I was reading a magazine comparing winter tyres and summer tyres and it mentioned that winter tyres needed higher pressures than summer tyres. Not sure if this true or not, but for daily driving I have mine set between the pressures for a lightly loaded car and fully loaded car.

That gives 2.2 bar at the front, 2.6 bar at the rear. That's about 32/38 for my 205/55R16's. The tyre placard says either 2.0/2.4 (29/34) or 2.4/2.9 (34/42) depending on loading

I am running them at slightly higher pressure, because on cold days the air contracts a bit and the tire deflates a bit, so this way they stay at a reasonable minimum pressure.

Good point. That's probably why the magazine said they should be run at a 'higher' pressure.
