The sensor thing is metal, so when the brakes get hot, the sensor expands, therefore, squeeky noises. It probably goes like, squeek--squeek--squeek-squeek-squeek-squeeksqueeksqueek as you go fast right?
Yes, same thing my dealer said. Just had new rear pads and brake sensor replaced today.

whatever you do... don't take it back to the dealer. they all give you the same response "it's fine, it's normal"!! (when really it obvious its not..)

the same thing happened to my e90, i've about had it with the dealer, so i took the car to a family friend who happens to be a mechanic, he checked it out for me and showed me that when the dealership did the brakes they installed the brake pads cocked!! it resulted it grinding the rotors and thus causing further damage.

if i were you, have another party besides the dealer inspect the brakes.

I also had this problem. I took it into the dealer twice:

1) First time, they cleaned the sensor. Squeaking went away for a week then returned.

2) 2nd time when rear brake pad maintenance came up, they replaced the sensor and pads. Problem went away.

However, ~6K miles after the rear brake pad change, I just started hearing it again a few days ago...always on the right rear. So my theory is that the new pads only mask the problem because they're thicker, but doesn't address the root cause (if it's the sensor, mine got replaced!)

I plan to bring it in again one last time before my warranty expires and when the problem becomes more pronounced. I plan to switch to aftermarket rotors and pads when these are worn, but I fear the problem will still return after the pads are worn down a bit.
