Isn't anyone single anymore?

Here it is--another saturday night, and here I am doing nothing except reading posts on the forum. Usually not a bad thing, but I wish I had something to do or somewhere to go...

I usually don't like to get into posting personal troubles, so sorry in advance, but I really am angry. I can't believe how hard it is to meet girls. And everyone I do meet is already in a relationship. It makes me wonder how these girls got into relationships to begin with since the whole world is obviously unavailable.

I don't get it...I go to the gym everyday (but there are never any girls there), and yet I still never meet anyone. And every once in a while I'll see a girl I went to high school with, but then I check out their profile on myspace, and find out they're already involved. Or once in a great while, I'll meet someone and ask her out, but guess what? She's got a b/f. This happens every time...I get shot down before I even have a chance because of this. Every time! What the hell!!!

Maybe that's the motivation people have to stay in relationships...because being back on the market sucks so bad. I don't know. Any thoughts? Or am I the only one?

Sorry dude. I'm married - but just try to think about it less. It will happen when you least expect it.

I've been with my girlfriend for 2.5 years.

I can see where your coming from.

And I can imagine, alot of people feel the way you do. And all I can mention is....alot of people cheat.

I don't condone that, and wouldn't participate on either end of it, because I think I would feel devalued as a person.

yeah I know how you feel. Even though I chose not to go out tonight, I understand what it's like to have nothing to do. All the girls I know are taken too. And the girls that like me are...let's just say Im not interested. Sometimes I do wish I had a gf to go hang out with. But it seems like they're all taken. I guess when it comes it comes.

I've been at a local sports bar tonight, very busy and has recently grown in size (sq ft). All I have to say is "I'm old..." I ran into way too many people from high school and I have been out for 15 years. Most of them are still single too, never married with no children. At least I have that over them.

BTW, what puzzles me is them amount of people that I went to high school with and then later attended a large state university in the same city, are still living here. I'd love to get out of here!

I have been single a while and am loving it. I get to do my own thing and not have to answer to a partner, and I get to enjoy the company of a variety of people and have lots of fun along the way.

Being single is not the issue, it is being single with no one in your black book, or single and desperate because you don't feel like a whole person unless you have an "other half".

You already are a whole person.

Enjoy your time single, soon enough some woman will come along and the party will be over, you will be in love and settling down, so enjoy the ride mate.

Everytime I have met a long term partner it has been when I am really enjoying life being single, then BAM!! along comes this person who crawls in under my skin.

When you go looking for it, you push it away - desperation is a very ugly cologne, and the women can smell it a mile off.

If what you are saying is that you aren't bumping into enough eligible women, the start doing different thing, go different places, change gym, whatever. Just do it with the right attitude, nothing attracts people faster than a confident, happy person.

Yeah I was gonna say. Enjoy it while you can cus once you have someone, you'd wish that you can just be alone sometimes. Someone once told me " take it one day at a time cus when you look for something you will push it back" and it will take longer for you to find it. Shoot i've been single for a while now and it hasnt really bothered me at all. Just be happy and be yourself...^_^

I'm single! I don't think it's all that bad being single. I think I'mo one of those people who are just never really content.

When I was in a relationship, I wanted to be single. Now that I'm single, I'm thinking that I want a boyfriend again. I dunno. It's really not that bad though! You have WAY more time for yourself and your other friends.AND AND!! instead of paying for 2, u only haveto pay for yourself. DEFINITE PLUS

I feel your pain sharp. Sometimes I wish I had a g/f to spend time with, but I figure I just need to wait for the right person. I agree with enroutte too, it's not all bad being single.

I agree with you Ghunger - being alone is prefereable to being with the wrong person.

You're young though...lucky you! Of course at your age I wasn't single for very long, just only in-between relationships.

I'd like a good female friend with similar interest (boating, snow & water skiing, european autos, and etc.) and see where it goes from there. No rush... As we say in the south, "There's no reason to jump from the frying pan to the over." aka, I've been burned badly before (marriage). At my age, single equals more $ for myself to enjoy life. My last GF was a total slacker, and did nothing but sponge off me.

Lots of females out there, sometimes you have to stop looking and look more at yourself(if you will) - concentrate on you, have fun, do what you do, most importantly be active about what you want in life, and in the midst of all those things happening someone will notice you, or you'll notice someone that will notice you. LoL, I'm no God when it comes to realtionship advice, but I have a solid idea of what I'm talking about. Try not to go based off of what others say, as everyone's experiences are unique. Lastly, whatever you do, be audacious. Otherwise, don't expect ANYTHING.
