New Gauges

Thought I would share. Wanted to go with something different. Like the M3 design, but we have a diesel and can't retrofit an M3 cluster as far as I know, plus it's pricey. So I went with my own design a la M550d in Europe. Still want to add M3 rings that I have, but apparently they are a pita to fit. Also, I have experimented with all kinds of LEDs from 320mcd to 2100mcd and form 4000K to 7000K. I have found that the best colour temperature is 6500 to 7000K although I hate blue and purple, they look the best. For now I have 1600mcd LEDs, but will be switching to the lower power as these are on a brighter side. Just hard to get a proper batch in a 0.33/0.33 x/y chromacity that lean in a 6500-7000K range, unless you get a whole reel. Anyway, here they are, may be I am crazy, but my car is a US-spec, and I had to get kph clusters anyway, although my digital speedo is fine at times. PS: these are replacements and not overlays, if that matters.

Mine is an Msport and I did make that. I suppose people may frown on using an ///M logo, but I just follow what BMW did with a diesel 550d/50d in Europe. Plus, there is enough ///M logos from the factory on this car. I always think that with a DPF off and a remap at 325hp and 500lbft at the wheels this should have been an ///M335d from the factory.

I googled the Apina D3 E90 cluster, and it's pretty similar to yours. Only it can have MPH with the KPH within it.

I wish there was a way for us to get a 200mph speedo, not that I'd go that fast, but just because lol.

very nice

as a side question what is that car symbol with dashed lines in the center of cluster right above the display. Is that for some sort of cruse control or park sensor? I have never seen it light up.

I am not sure how it works, but yes it was an option on US cars. I do not have it though on mine.
