Anyone else aboard the Elektra?

I really found other people's experience helpful in determining my estimated time of delivery. One, because I want my new car; but two, because I'm selling my current E46 & it's helpful to know when I can expect the new car.

For anyone anxiously awaiting delivery of their car, here's my current timeline:

Late December - Placed order at dealer
Jan 02 Status 150 - Production Started
Jan 04 Status 151 - In Body Shop
Jan 05 Status 152 - In Paint Shop
Jan 06 Status 154 - In Assembly
Jan 09 Assembly Complete (Note: Assy started on Friday, Completed on Monday, or 2 biz days)
Jan 10 Status 155 - Quality Check
Jan 10 Status 190 - Transport to Port of Exit (Bremerhaven)
Jan 11 Status 193 - Arrival at Port of Exit, Awaiting Shipping Vessel
Jan 12 Boarded the ELEKTRA
Jan 12 ELEKTRA depart Bremerhaven, Germany (on schedule)
Jan 14 ELEKTRA depart Gothenburg, Sweden (on schedule)
-- Wallenius Wilhelmsen Lines changes schedule, moves everything back 2 days --
Jan 18 ELEKTRA depart Zeebrugge, Belgium (on schedule)
Jan 19 ELEKTRA depart Southampton, UK (on schedule)
Jan 27 ELEKTRA depart Halifax, NS, Canada (on schedule)
Jan 29 ELEKTRA arrives at Port of NJ (on schedule) Vehicle Status on WW site changes to "Discharged"
Jan 30 ELEKTRA departs Port of NJ (1 day late), my car enters VPC.
(Feb 1 - OC lists vehicle as "At Preparation Center")
Feb 02 VPC reports damaged (Style 162) wheel. Will not release car until new part comes in.
Feb 10 VPC receives replacement wheel - car listed as "Released to Carrier".
Feb 11-12 Massive snowstorm cripples NY/NJ area.
Feb 13 CA informs me that car should arrive at dealership late today or tomorrow ~ pending situation at VPC and snow issues.


I'll update as the process moves along...

I left today too, I assume I'm on the ELEKTRA also. Were did you get this ship info? Let us hope for calm seas and a strong tailwind!

I got the info from http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/cargoTrack.do

Click Auto Cargo, and then plug in your VIN.

Thanks, I've been trying that for 10 days. Upper and lower case letters. still nothing.
I sent an email to my SA, asking her to track my car, still waiting for a reply. At least my car is heading west

Making its way across the Atlantic, the vessel Elektra. Turns out this ship holds 3500 cars!

1 day in Bremerhaven is very encouraging. Mine rolled off the line a day behind you but is still at the dock. Hopefully I'll catch the next ride.

The 800# now say "In Transit", the OC still says "waiting transport"
The ships cargo tracking site still shows nothing, and my SA still hasn't returned my emails. I'm not sure if I'm on Elektra, or Patriot.
At least its moving.

eleven24 how did you find out that Elektra is behind schedule? My car is on that ship as well. It was supposed to arrive in NY on the 24th.

If you goto the WW site and plug in your VIN you'll be presented with the ship info. Next to Voyage you'll see the id EA602-ELX. Click on that and you'll see the current progress of the Elektra. Right now it's showing the arrival in NY (actually NJ) on 1/28. It used to be 1/26.

Great, now its showing that it will arrive on the 29th!

I arrived in NY on Jan 16th (on the Jingu Maru) after originally saying it was supposed to be the 12th. For some reason, they always seem to get delayed at sea for 3-4 days. That's the pattern I was seeing.

Dumb question of the day: What exactly is the BMW 1-800 number. I have searched a ton of the threads and have only seen it referred to as the "1-800" number.

1-800-831-1117. This is the number you call to check the status of your vehicle when you have ordered one. You need to provide them with the order number or VIN to track the car.

Yeah, my car is still on order. I just want the process to start already. I figure better to get the number in advance to feed the addiction.

The addiction continues. This time with www.sailwx.info, getting the longitude/latitude of the Elektra, and then plotting in in Google Earth!

Oh, the obsession.

Really, there's no addiction going on here. The Elektra as of 6pm UDT Jan 23rd.

(But the whole process, from ordering to being able to track is really interesting)
