I'd say there are two chances: slim and none. Especially since the 2008 model is already out. I'd also doubt it would be on the 2009. Not everyone wants it so BMW will try to apease all customers.

It's not going to happen. There's a reason why BMW decided on the 3 series to make I-drive optional.

It's a $1,500 ($2,000 in Canada) option.
Why on earth would BMW make it standard?

That might be a deal breaker for me... I'd have to buy something else if that was the case.

It's actually a $2100 option here in the US ($1910 invoice).

It's not like they'll give it away... You pay anyway, it wouldn't magically be "free".

Between zero and some negative number.

Come on, they expect you to pay extra for the decent suspension pieces and for the paint!

(Paint is "free" on the 5-series, did you notice?)

Seriously, WTF is wrong with iDrive? I don't mean that as in it's bad, I mean, really, there's hardly anything wrong with this latest iteration imo. The only thing I'd like to have is those four corner buttons like Audi's MMI system and maybe some more RAM or whatever to speed things up.

The only people who hate it are those who are technologically illiterate. It's so easy. Now, if you're talking about iDrive from anywhere pre-2006, then yeah, I'd definitely say you 'haters' would have something to complain about, ESPECIALLY the pre-facelift 745i/li. That thing's atrocious to use.

C'mon, give it a break. Take 5 minutes to learn how to use the thing and stop hating it.

c'mon iDrive isn't that bad at all. I agree with Bimmer Loyalist.

Yea it's for sure overpriced, but who wants a portable navi with wires hanging out everywhere???
Although I have to admit that BMW could use a few lessons on User Interface Design and Usability.
I should start a wiki to post improvements / ideas we could come up with for iDrive...

i_Drive is made by a German company (Siemens) for a German company (BMW) - where would U want this User Interface Design and Usability to come from?

i dont think so...
they are only standard on the higher end models..
plus....if the e92's came standard with them then so would the M3's
which is not happening
