Down and out three weeks into owning the car.

I been hearing a fluttering sound when I accelerate at low rpm's and now that little noise made a big boom on the high way oil is everywhere and the car won't start. Did anyone see me pulled over at exit 35 on the cross island pkwy in Whitestone NY. I saw a few e92's go by one even pulled over up the road to check his own tire lo,l a n54 black. Keep you guys posted waiting on this damn tow truck for those wondering I was shifting into 5th cruising.

No I've driven standard my whole life I had oil coming out of the exhaust I'm thinking the turbo or the waste had exploded literally. Doubt I blew the motor doing 70 mph shifting at 5k rpm.. What ever it is was getting worse and it finally gave. The dealer gave me a 2015 loaner. 320xi with 2800miles brand new black on black I hate it everything feels so cheap compared to my 2012 e92.

Right? They totally feel cheap. Been in a 2015 328 for the past two weeks while my tranny is being replaced. Everything is so plastic-y.

Well here's what the dealer reported to me today. My engine has seized and one of the Pistons ended up in my oil pan I don't know how true that is. That's what I was told. Dealer told me that he put in a claim for a new engine and BMW wants to check the computer to see if I was redlining the engine which I never have closest was 6k. 5.5k the nite it blew. Then after that it's a $20,000 job and 30 man hours to repair it. I thankfully have about 2k miles and about 4.5 months left on the factory warranty. **Gulp!** that was close.
De finely want the engine replacement im in love with the car. Don't want a different one.
I'll have more answers come Monday or Tuesday guys.

holy crap bro, sounds like you are ridiculously lucky to still be under factory warranty!

although, i hope your story holds up about the redlining, because it would suck for BMW to hit you with that bill!!!

Little update for you guys on edge. I went to bmw today and they told me BMWNA has approved me for a new engine. Most likely short block. However it's on backorder so another two weeks before it gets here but hey I'm happy. So mid July I should have my car back. Sad that I had my car in the shop dead longer than I drove it since I bought it. Lol soon I will be reunited.
