I am wondering if an ipod snap-in adapter will provide music in my car. I have the ipod functionality that works fine with the Y cable. I also have smart phone integration with the eject box. But my car is pre-combox (it's an 08).

I guess my question is does ipod snap-in adapter take the place of using the Y-cable?

My end game here is to use my phone's built in mobile hotspot to allow the ipod touch to play pandora when the head unit is in "ipod" mode.

Answering my own question.... I don't think this will work in my car due to only having 6FL, would also need the 6NF option to play music from the snap-in adapter.

It gets worse, even plugging the ipod in through the y cable, it will only play the music on the ipod, when I go to pandora on the touch, it will not play through the car. Glad I didn't start down this road!
