Found this post on autoblog earlier. Shows how BMW is planning on lauching internet capable iDrive with high resolution capabilities in the near future.
BMW + Hi-Def Internet = hmmm....will it cook me dinner soon too? http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/22/g...tricted-in-ca/ (doesnt say anything about current production applications)

a bigger idrive screen resolution would be welcome, but I can live w/o internet in my car. I have it in my mobile phone, my notebook, PDA... enuff
