My question is this: Does anyone know if the clown-nose should operate without the retrofit being done? When I plugged in the new mirror, nothing worked (the compass/dim/homelink shouldn’t have)...not even the clown-nose (I installed the alarm). Does it work after the retrofit or should it have been blinking beforehand at least?
On my 135i, the wiring was different between the non-autodim mirror and the autodim one so nothing would work without the retrofit kit.

Once the retrofit kit was installed, everything was fine.

Hello!
I'm from France and I saw that the Homelink is not the same in Europe than in US.
Do you know if a software flash is possible?
Because here it's impossible to find a mirror with homelink (except at my BM dealer and it's very expensive).
Thanks in advance!

Hey hey! The homelink upgrade does not require a software flash. There is a difference in the wiring, but both versions (EU & US) are in the PDF on page 1.

I'm not sure if you need the same wiring harness as we do, but studying the instructions, you should be able to tell if you can use the same one (the added wiring harness for the upgrade).

Good luck!

Sorry for my english there is a misunderstanding.
I've understood that the retrofit itself doesn't not require a software flash of the car.
But there is differences between US homelink and Europe one.
My question is : do you know these differences? (hard or soft) and if it's possible to easily switch from a US Homelink to and Europe Homelink.
Thanks!

Does anyone have the wiring diagram for the mirror side? I recently purchased a auto dim mirror with homelink but it didn't come with a connector. The mirror just have 9 wires coming out of it. I was able to use the connector from my old mirror but don't know which color wire goes where? Again this is the female connector on the mirror side.
