Not More Inlet options!! RB EVO Style Inlets Sneak Peak!!

Yes I know... it is getting very old already. Inlets Inlets Inlets.

Anyway this was set in motion quite a while ago so figured I'd share. These are now out for 3rd party test fitting and feedback as we try to button up contents and cost of the kit. In the meantime I figured I'd share a few pics of the new option.

Quick note: These are not going to be el cheapos, but will be fairly priced for the more discerning crowd looking for passenger side silicone inlets.

Thanks,
Rob

May be a lame-o question, but assuming this setup requires coolant tank relocation?

Not a bad question. Was just asked on another forum the same thing! So I will copy in the same response:

"The coolant reservoir needs to move over to the driver side, typical of passenger side inlets. The perk of this kit though is that the vacuum canisters can stay on the same bracket and location, but the bracket does need "modified" and moved forward (towards the headlight). Still looks really clean in their same OE-like location though.

The bummer with all of the passenger side inlets (which few every seem to discuss at least in any detail) is that there is excess labor in the details (ie. kind of a PITA).

Rob"

I'm sure at minimum we will add in the few tidbits of parts for this, just not sure if we are going to make things nice (ie. CNC) or not at this point. Post #1 discusses this to some degree, we are working with a 3rd party test fitter to see what they feel we will need to make something that is marketable.

Interested, and glad I waited on the inlet game. Ballpark for pricing?

Yeah it's going to be a cool kit but not for those looking for cheap. I know as sits it's going to be over $500, so more parts included means more cost. All depends on our cost on all of the pieces of the kit as which will be included. We may end up having a preliminary group buy if there are enough quantity of those still out there willing to pay for more.

Just wondering what the additional parts will be for this setup, aside from the obvious filter and heat shield, that will differentiate this from the stock location inlets you already offer and the passenger side inlets that other vendors sell. I take it that the manifold heat shield is a custom piece, and the brackets for reservoir + canister relocation will add to the cost as well?
Also, what testing is planned to prove their performance?

As for further details, parts lists, costs, etc; per post #1 it is under review... this is not a release thread it is only a sneak peak.

Performance wise (in simplest form) these are tubes that connect turbos to an air filter and the tubes are plenty big even for very large upgraded turbos. If it helps though one of our EVO cars went a 10.8@134mph last year with this same inlet system (along with our Super RB EVO turbos).

Rest assured there is no other inlet system that is going to leave this one in the dust... the only limitation remaining after these inlets will be in your turbos.

Thanks,
Rob

This kit looks awesome!

Rob, I think it would be more easier for people to do it when changing turbos? AKA more cost efficient?

Definitely always best to do it when doing turbos although you don't have to do it with turbos either. Ultimately if you are concerned with labor costs and already have an hankering for turbos definitely do them together as additional labor hours over a turbo swap is next to nothing.

Here's my temporary relocation for the vacuum canisters if anyone looking for ideas. I'm going to make a custom bracket to hard mount them closer to the firewall once I get my upgraded ones.

Looks great thanks for sharing EJ_3! Just an FYI, you can keep the vacuum canisters in the OEM location as well... but does require a little modification of the OEM bracket and it moves more towards the headlight giving all the clearance needed for the filter.
