LOL

I did the exact the same thing a bit ago. After seeing you on thealpinaregister I blatantly copied you and got a D3 except you changed your mind and got a 335d.....and now you copy me in getting the ML420!!! Nah seriously, it is one immense machine and takes everyone by surprise.

GOOD POINTS

1 the V8 diesel is unbelievable, so smooth, quiet with an addictive noise
2 handles ok for a boat but not well enough to justify a sport tag, just good relatively good for a 4x4
3 debadge it and surprise a few folks
4 engine is remappable to 350bhp and 800Nm torque!!!!!!

BAD POINTS

1 people think you're a tw*t to have such a big engine
2 cost me 102 to fill up on friday :-( OUCH!!!!!

Congratulations Steve. I use the D3 for daily use and the ML for load lugging and family trips.

I'm looking forward to the ML pics when you pick it up! I really like the look of the new ML and I was torn between an ML320CDi and the 335d. If I had tried the ML420 I may not be driving the BMW now!

Don't forget to visit http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums its the best of the UK Mercedes forums.

Thanks for all the kind words, the car is fantastic and i cant wait.

The mrs will drive it more than me, and now she has no say whatsoever in any of my future car purchase plans

Pete i was going to entitle the thread ' ive done a petay' also got a full tank+ tracker+ baby seat + 2000 more on trade in than i had been offered else where plus more discount than the 7700. i just couldnt say no

Harpalb i still might get a D3 as the D3 biturbo looks very good indeed. What genuine mpg do you get now the car is run in. On the test it was giving about 20mpg around town. That is better than the C32 so i was really impressed.

Note for Tony (E92Fan)- We need to alter the UK5: Treasure Hunt teams.
'Team F**kwah' now consists of Steve, Calvin & Tony (Evil Diesel).

We need to get Oli to sign up, before we can have him, Carlos & SiBurt in 'Team F**kwah 2'.

Now Steve, please calm down, you northernwah.

Steve, congrats, awesome motor.

What colour, spec etc?

Liking newer Mercs much more - seeing plenty of the new C class on the road and they look good. ML and GL look great too, and for me the SL is enjoying a bit of a renaissance prior to its facelift.

And a friend of ours in the village has just bought an SLK 55 - sounds phenomenal....

And is it my fault that you have a chip on your northern shoulder the size of the entire McDonalds empire (including franchises)? And, before you ask, McDonalds is nothing like The Ivy and really does not offer a romantic venue for a supper entertaining the love of your life.

And just to keep Viv busy editing more posts - F**k. (edit- STOP it, Tony )

You cannot argue with that, I also have a two year PCP with a monthly payment of less than 470 and zero risk in terms of 4x4 depreciation. my deposit was only 1K!

I pick up my GL next saturday, what spec did you get?
Viv,

Any change of another Off Topic area for DEFECTORS!!!!

I'm off to post spec details of my E91 on the nearest merc forum. (if there is one).
