Fuzions aren't very good tires. They're cheap tires. Why would you put them on a BMW? If you can afford the BMW, afford the tires too. I remembered when they first came out, I bought a set, and after taking them around, I had a shifted belt in 2 of the tires... and they were almost brand new.
I think they're made by Bridgestone if I remember right... but they're like the ultra-budget version of bridgestone tires. |

haha, most people on this forum sport General tires. Why is everyone hating on Fuzions?

unlike wheels, the brand of the tires sometimes is just a name. however, I am not talking about tires like wanli, nankang, those are just crap loll.. get generals or falkens, those are affordable and pretty good. |

Even if your parents paid for the BMW, I still say you should put some money together and get nicer tires. How much extra would it run you? $500? $1000? The investment is worth it. I mean in the grand scheme, that $500 to $1000 is nothing over a course of a lifetime. Besides, it'll probably last you longer and is safer.

Generals are rated number 1 on tirerack. I think the best thing is to check with tirerack. But I agree with you, if you have some nice wheels, then get those micehlin, toyo, dunlop, or watever.

Are generals rated #1 because of price or performance?

Just because new BMW come with michelin tires, it doesn't mean those are the best tires. there's connections between michelin and BMW, that's why they are using them. So if BMWs come with Wanli tires, I bet some of you ignorants would think those are the best tires in the world.
And kumhos are not rated #1 or 2 or 3. So I never said Kumhos are good tires. Sometimes people gotta take away their stuborness and try new things. You will be very surprised on how these generals perform on the world. |

I've tried many different brands of tires... And don't get me wrong, I love some brands, but some other brands are god-awful. Fuzions are one of those crusty brands. 300 km on a tire and shifted belt. I've used Michelin Sport A/S tire and I think they're a really decent tire. But than again, I think Yoks Parada tires are wicked too... if you can bare the noise. I mean every tire has their pros and cons... but their biggest PRO should not be the price but rather performance.
It's like all those people out there that buy LV but shop at the thrift shop for everything else. Does it make sense? |

The biggest PRO could be the performance, if you can afford the most expensive tires in the world, then so be it. A lot of people pay for their LVs , but they live in a shitbox, same goes with people who owns BMWs, so it doesn't mean they will be spending MORE than enough for the tires. IMO, if your car is a daily car, then you don't need to go with the high performance tires. At least not in Toronto, you can't use the car to its full potential anyway. Unless you track your car, then that's a different story.

I didn't say you have to get the best tire. I just said you shouldn't buy the cheapest tire. Hell.. I'll admit, I usually buy tires from Costco if they have them since they offer road hazard warranty still.
But it doesn't mean that I'll touch Fuzions because they're cheap. They're just not good enough... from a safety and realibility standpoint. |

Generals are an ok all around tire, but definitely not high performance by my standards. Users rate them #1 for their bang for the buck.
My personal fav's are in no particular order GD GS D3 - excellent dry/wet summer tire/ ok price PS2 - crazy dry/ok wet/very expensive get them when they are on promo yoko advan AD07 very good dry/good wet/ still kind of pricey Tires i would like to try eagle F1 asymetrico Bridgestone RE-01R and yes Tirerack has almost got me convinced to burn off a set of Sumitomo HTR III they are cheap enough to buy and burn off in the summer with a few track events and driving around. I had some Conti Sport 3's on my A4.. Horrible tread wear, and one blown tire in the 401.
