The 2008 Cobalt SS uses the 2.0 L Ecotec LNF Turbo I4 putting out 260hp and 260lb feet of torque. The Ion Redline uses the 2.0 L LSJ supercharged I4 putting out 205hp and 200lb feet of torque. They both use the F35 5-speed manual transmission, though the Cobalt SS's is geared different.

Also, the 2008 model has a entirely different suspension, traction system, computer system, etc.

Oh and the curb weight of the Ion Redline is 2962 lb . The Cobalt SS is 2,970lbs. That is only a difference of 8 pounds not 100 idiot.

Your car is also much slower stock, the 08 SS runs 5.5 to 60. C/D ran the Ion Redline to 60 in 6.0 seconds. Also C/D was able to get the Cobalt SS sedan to do .92G's on the skidpad compared to .84 compared to the Redline. The SS also ran the 1/4 mile in 14.2 at 102mph compared to 14.6 at 98mph for the Redline.

You morons need to pull your heads out of y'all's asses. You just got schooled.

Then maybe someone should specify what year cobalt they were talking about... and for the record C/D fucking sucks at driving... we have members breaking into the 14.2's and 14.3's bone stock. hell... i was running 14.6's @ over 100mph pretty much stock here at 4900' altitude. oh and not to mention... the LNF was in a saturn before it was in anything else... (See: Sky redline)

as for the weight issue... lol, tell that to the many cobalt owners that have weighed thier cars in at over 3000lbs without driver, and the many redline owners who have weighed thier cars in around 2930lbs... scales dont lie and vehicle weights posted by the manufacturer are usualy way off.

Enjoy your simple little win, which isn't even much. That saturn barely even struggled to creep pass the 335i in the first place, I don't know where your getting flyby from. With nitrous and all the mods the best 1/4 mile time on a ion is a 13.1, with just a simple tune 335is are running mid 12s are you serious. I'm a car guy by heart and I give props to any car, but some of the bullshit I am hearing is starting to get ridiculous.
that bolt on, sprayed ion redline ran a 13.1 because he couldn't get traction, as most of us have traction issues considering the fact that were FWD and see about 80% in first gear before redline... any educated "Car Guy" knows that 112mph traps will put a car deep into the 12's with traction, a tuned 335i has the advantage due to its RWD. most of us trap around what a stock 335i traps with just bolt on's and a tune... and if you want to talk 1/4 mile with traction... lol, theres a few of us running into the 13.2-13.1's with basic mods and DR's... i personaly know of a guy who traps over 117mph and runs 12's on street tires... but it takes a damn good driver to run 12's on street tires in these cars due to the blower... hell, if you want to get technical, i can throw a turbo conversion on my car for about $2k and make power in the mid 300's and run low 12's with traction all day, with 115mph+ trap speeds, on only 14psi... our motors were built for a turbo, GM bastardized it by throwing this innefficient EATON on there and severly restricting power output.

so to sum things up...

Saturn ION Redline= $20,000 brand new
Custom Turbo Conversion= $2,500
Tuning= $100-$450 (depending on weather you go through a member with HP Tuners or a shop)

Total to make more power than a Turbocharged V6 BMW with a 2.0L 4 cylinder Saturn (including the price of the car)= $22,950

yeaaahhh... i could give a rats ass about your wood grain dash, heated seats, steering wheel, or any other useless crap that costs more money to fix than its worth, the way i see it... you paid an ass load for more crap thats going to cost you an ass load to fix when it inevitably takes a dump, cause we all know how european cars are sooooo reliable...

Quit talking out of your ass and get some fucking proof. Believe me if all you need was slicks to get your gay ass car into 11s, you would have done it already so quit fucking dreaming. You have all those bolt ons with a tune and on the spray and you are bragging that you beat a tune only 335i, dude shut the fuck up and get a freaking clue you asshat.
Don't feel like digging up the 12 second slips through the thousands of pages on the forums but this is what happens when you put a turbo on our car (about $2-3K)

one of our members on the dyno... he put down 385whp and 330wtq

you are right, its pitch black and you can't really tell if its a 325/328/330/335 from the rear, but you can tell from the headlights. that e90 have halogen headlights. 335 does not come with halogen.

Theres this too...

and this was done before we had any support from companies like HP Tuners..the owner of this car made 330whp, ZZPerformance.com now sells the kit and is currently pulling 440whp out of thier test car on a completely stock motor, only mod is the twincharge kit itself and tuning.
