BMW SAT transmission?
HI Guys - the 5 series could have SAT Transmission - or a Sport Automatic Transmission. I have been reading a few posts about how to retrofit it to a 5 series - and one thing made me wonder.
When you have the SAT option, the rev counter moves _MUCH_ faster than normal - giving the impression that the gearbox is changing even faster that normal. Some of the tutorials mention that you need to remove option 205 and replace it with 2TB - and then recode the kombi.. Now what would happen on a 3 series if i add 2TB and recode the combo - I hope that will make the rev counter move faster on gear changes - just like on a 5 series with SAT. I know that shift times will not improve, but I'm running the Alpina file, so shifting is as quick as they can be. What will happen - worst case - if I remove option 205 and replace it with 2TB and recode the kombi as the only thing? |

this options will not work on our 6HP M-shift gearboxes
SAT is only for E-shift 6HP gearboxes (E6x LCI) and 8HP gearboxes (E89, E84 2012+) instead of this we have ALPINA B3 and 335Is firmware for 335i and ALPINA D3 firmware for 320D

I'm interested in the changes made to the kombi when you retrofit the sat on a 5 series. The rev counter moves MUCH faster when the cat is equipped with sat. With the alpina files there gearbox is much faster than normal, but the rev counter is still sluggish.. |
