Question Tracks in or near NYC?

Looking for a track to test my car next weekend. I don't want to drive all the way to PA to do so. Want to do a run with and without the SSTT. Any suggestions on where is the nearest tracks around NYC.

I think the only tracks near you is Englishtown, and Atco. They are both in NJ. Etown is a nice track. And Atco is not as nice but it hauls ass. And is very sticky! Both tracks have great air quality. Especially when compared to west coast tracks. Hope this helps.

Best Regards,
Max-

Raceway park in Englishtown NJ is gonna be your best bet. It's about forty minutes out of the Holland or Lincoln tunnel.

Yes, there is maple grove raceway! Very fast track too. It is right in the middle of the forest. East Coast has the best tracks hands down.

I see. Thanks. Great help.

If you were located in Manhattan and never been to the track before, which one of those will you recommend.

Thanks!

I've been to E-town and Maplegrove, never been to Atco.

For your first trip out it probably doesn't matter. There is going to be a learning curve at either track. I would go to which ever one might be less busy so, you can make more passes. However, I'd say most strips close to the city stay pretty busy.

With an Xi track prep isn't that big of deal since traction won't be much of issue.

If you know someone who has gone before see if they want to go with you.

I want a road course where I can max-out my car legally.

Wishful thinking probably, but it would be nice to see what its capable of in a safe environment. No such thing in the US I suppose right?

I am a big fan of Island. On a slow night over 20 passes is doable. On a busy night 10 passes is doble.

They'll all run about the same. 30-40 bucks. Englishtown is always busy. Friday nights at Island are pretty much a free for all as far as the amount of runs you can do. They'll let you do grudge matches too if you wanna line up against somebody specific. Sundays at Island are another story though, 3-4 runs if there are no problems.

Avoid sundays! 25 bucks to run at Island. Its a shit hole. But still fun.
