My stock 2007 328xi e90 AW with subtle mods :)

Decided to create thread as I'll progress through upgrades. 2 days ago changed pre-lci Halogens to lci halogens which as you know have AEs. Very happy with outcome. Installed LED AEs from e-92 lighting (local vendor) and also bought mtek 4350 low beams to match white light of AEs.

If anyone is in the same shoes, do it guys, it's worth it, I'm for the first time having AEs and I'm so glad lol

I took couple of pics with iPhone, so apologies for low quality:

I'm thinking what to do next. I can swap rear lights and a trunk for LCI or I can go for M3 rep side skirts or I can try BPC tune to up the power a bit and make a car more responsive. What would you do in my shoes?

1) Black Kidney grills
2) M-tech or M3 rep front bumper (splitters don't look good IMO)
3) Suspension
4) Tint

I personally don't think the M3 rep side skirts look good unless you get the whole kit so don't waste your money.

Thanks! Yeah, people also say side skirts are barely noticeable, so I'll probably skip it and save money for other mods

I'd buy new shoes first. Especially before getting side skirts. But that's just my opinion.

Oh you mean rims? Yeah, I really like deep concave 19' Forgestar F14s, but for the $2.5K price of rims and tires - that's like half my car costs right now probably On the other hand if I stay on a subtle side 162s aren't that bad, but I hear you. Now the more I think about it, the less I have desire to spent money on it. I guess it would be good thing for me to decide if this car is even worth modding, I mean it's not even 335

Stick to exterior mods, like I said earlier:
Black kidney grills a cheap and easy to install, they make a big difference with the front end.
If you had the coin to buy M3 rep side skirts surely you can afford the extra bit for a front bumper. Or just put that $$$ towards a Eibach pro kit and keep the 162's (they look fine) Suspension will drastically change the look of the car.

My suggestions are
-Drop the car. H&R springs or coilovers
-Tint the windows
-Paint the front splitters
-Black Kidney grills
-Blackline tailights(cheaper alternative) or LCI conversion

Off to a good start, though.

If I go with only H&R springs, but keep stock shocks (they are in good condition) - will handling improve a bit too? Thanks

P.S. Thanks everyone for your suggestions, I will start with black kidney grills and then go to other mods

Definitely get painted splitters. The current ones look awful and totally detract from an otherwise clean car.

And if you want to pay for labor twice on the suspension, you can do just the springs... or do it once and do it right. Get Konis to pair with the H&Rs. Stock shocks do not work with lower springs, the ride goes to shit.

I would definitely paint the splitters - try paintscratch.com or similar services, if you are good with a rattle can you can DIY and it will look way better than it does now (or get a quote from a paint shop). It might look better lowered, but it's an xi - they don't have all that much travel. I dunno, other than that i would probably leave it alone. But then my car is almost 100% stock..

I took off splitters for painting and want to do black kidney grills. Matte or gloss - what is consensus on these?

Guys and gals, thank you very much for your advise and support! I took off splitters and car looks better without them (I guess it was me accustomed too much to how it looked and I didn't notice it was looking ugly, that's why fresh opinion is always good), I will be painting them white as well as putting black kidney grills on. However, these will be my last small mods as I decided to sell my car and go for 335. It's not worth investing money to a car I won't be keeping. Hopefully I will not regret it

Will be selling my PE, but I'll leave lci halogens on the car - it will sell much better with them (old pre lci headlights looked horrible). Should I take off 18' 162s and put stock setup 16' with RFT or keep them on the car? I know some of you said 162s don't look good, but they are staggered setup 18' and with only 1 season Conti tires

Gloss black kidney grills IMO, that's what I have on my AW e90.

Sell it as is. If your going for a 335 just look for one with nicer wheels!
