Never seen anything like that before - bizzare.

Wonder why an engine reasearch facility would want to test the engine to destruction when BMW will presuambly have done something very similar?

Maybe there's some secret plan afoot for the 3.5d, the possibilities are endless. I love a good conspiracy theory.

Why am I not surprised you said that Carlos

Anyhow don't JCB have that accolade and it's British No doubt the Germans will eventually buy it though - I'm so cynical

About 12-14k, then the ECU, and looks like the loom is missing, and about 1800 for the exhaust.

Thats what I thought too.

If its 14k for an engine then its cheaper to buy the engine unless they were given the car by BMW for free.

Probably would be handier to pick up a written of 335d from a breakers and transplant the engine, etc.

What about stripping it down for the bits? Surely must be worth something.

I guess we can't question his choice for not getting I-drive or sports seats.

In this situation I can agree, no engine, probably save the I-drive money.
