MY BABY!!!

Well after a very long wait i finally have her my garage. Compared to my 3.0L X3 the 335 is a rocket, with M-Sports suspension it is very very tight around sharp turns. I absolutely had no time to take pics today but will try to take some tomorrow. Basically the car is blk saph with saddle int and burl wood trim, sunroof, M-Sports kit, 19inch M-Sports rims and paddle shifters.

I drove for 2.5 hours easy today and had fuel consumption of 20L per 100km Is this normal? I was driving agressively but not past 4.5k rpm. I finished a quarter tank in 45kms

I can't recall the car consuming that amount of juice initially. I do remember though, the salesperson leaving my brand new car idling for at least half an hour while he attempted to explain various basic features/functions. I just wanted to get behind the wheel and drive the damn car. If he/she did the same for you, it may explain the fuel usage. Regardless, as manyways mentioned above, it will drop. City driving will be around 12l/100k and highway driving you can get under 8l/100k and that's making good use of those godsent snails under your bonnet. btw, congratulations!

Congrats Chris G ..... like the previous posted have mentioned, the consumption readout will start to look more real once you get a 1000 klms on it.

A new, tight engine will chew through a fair bit of fuel initially, it will drop, reset one of your computers today and see how the readings go.

Those figures you quote, parisianfox, are pretty impressive, given the torque and power available. With the M3 you can add 50% to both of those figures. Makes range a bit silly with a 63l tank...

The first 3 tanks are shit fuel economy. Thereafter it gets better and better until the 10000km mark.

Ive been averaging 11.2L/100km for some months now

Enjoy your car - because unless someone really owns one and drives it - they realy don't know what they are missing out on.

Beautiful Chris. I like your choice of wheels. Did you pick it up at Chatswood or Rushcutters Bay?

As for fuel consumption, 20L/100km is nothing, mine was reading over 35L/100km on the first day. As the reading dropped, I figured sitting in the idling car in the showroom for 45 minutes had probably contributed to this. If you push and hold the button on the indicator stalk the current average fuel consumption will cancel and you can start afresh. I'm now getting about 14.5L/100km around town.

Thanks GeriFix. I picked it up at Rushcutters Bay. The funny thing was when the sales rep was explaining everything, my car was in the showroom idling so i just turned the car off.

Thanks for the tip on reseting the fuel consumption feature, ill be doing that now.
