F**k me mate, NONE i presume... anyone buying a 911 turbo aint going to cancel their order for a half price nissan mate!

It may well be ballistic, but i read a good letter that someone wrote into evo not long ago regarding the Nissan and its competitors..

EDIT found it i will type up the whole letter sent in by Mr Tim Cunliffe in may 2008 issue of EVO

''
Your Cover story on the GT-R (116) left me wondering how much Nissan paid you to give a verdict on its car! Yes, it is clearly fantastic and one of the fastest point to point cars on the road. However, the article seemed to suggest that it moves the game on from the Audi R8-and it is on this point that I cannot agree.

Could it be that you were given a duff R8?! The on track test of the GT-R against the Porsche GT3 stated that the Nissan slots in just beneath the Enzo in your West circuit lap-time table. However, you FAIL to point out that the Knowledge also shows that the R8 is only 0.4 (yes steve 0.4=f**k all) behind that. NOT BAD for a car with 60bhp less (not forgetting torque)-possibly a lot more if Nissan came clean with REAL POWER of their car.

Now, I realise you only compared the GT-R, and the R8 on the road, not on track, but perhaps you should have taken the R8 to the west circuit too, as it may have confirmed that things were alot closer than your story suggested, despite the GT-R feeling faster on the road.

Finally, whilst the GT-R is a brilliant car dynamically, it looks ugly, will not impress your Girlfriend and will be driven by Dwain and friends in five years time, complete with a boot full of speakers. It is not something to desire, but the R8 and GT3 are.
''

You know what, i actually agree with MR Cunliffe, this is what ive been getting at the whole time.

I also read an experts opinion the other day that stated the GT-R was only quicker around the `ring than the Turbo because of higher cornering speeds not outright straight line pace. If this is the case then not many owners will be able to tap into that area of performance. Like I said a few months back, this will become the most commonly stacked car of 2009 (IMO).

Carlos

Carl i read the article also and there where to be fair, others stating the exact opposite ie the guys main reason for prefering the R8/911 was more to do with kudos rather than out out out driving capability. Perhaps this bloke has an R8 on order and is a little pissed off that EVO now state in the Knowledge section the GTR has simply moved the game on, thats right a group of professional car journolists (and some) highly skilled drivers state the GTR is in fact a better car than the R8.

Thats my point mate, not that the R8 isnt nice,it is, but to me looks like a big TT and not 90ks worth. The 911 is clearly a monster, ive driven my pals and it is seriously fast, but it isnt as capable as the GTR and as this whole discussion point started over this point ie 'which is the better drivers car', my point which seems to be shared by everyone who has driven one is the GTR is the better drivers car.

If we are reffering to which will help you score with women more then it probbably comes dead last, and which will be talked about more as you drive down the high street posing then again its only a NIssan for f**k sake

But i have a wife a son and a daughter who will be with us anytime soon that doesnt matter to me (take the C55 as an example)........and to be fair never needed a car to help me score, but if i did id buy a fezza and not a stetched beetle

Also i have to disagree with Mr Cunliffe because for me it is somthing to be desired, I think its a beautiful car.

PS it was nice you missed me at UK5 the mrs went into early labour and was injected with something to stop the contraction and it seems to have done the trick My babba is due via C Section on 23rd May

Im going to add this

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder ie this will be different to everyone.
Perfromance statistics are FACT.

The GTR my not be pretty or desireable to you
But it is the best performning car in its sector and outperforms most cars on the road and track whatever the sector.

I rest my case.
