Factory Alarm on 335i?

Does the 335i come with a factory alarm? I noticed on the BMW website when you to customize the car it doesn't list an Alarm as an option. I need an alarm!

thanks!

nope, your dealer will happily sell you one for $700 but you can buy it for about $230 from Ticher and install it yourself and save a bundle. hell, you could probably have your dealer install it and still save a lot

I have not done it myself yet, but I will be. It looks very easy as the car is already pre-wired for the alarm from the factory. Basically - you just need to attach a hood sensor, siren, and motion sensor but no wiring is needed. check out the DIY forum. After the install some people bring it too the dealer for 'activiation' (which may cost $100-150) though from what I can tell everything on the alarm will work when you install it yourself right away expect for the 'chirp' when you arm/disarm

the DIY is VERY easy!!! just did my 335 and my M3 last week! One of the easiest things I've done on these cars!

the hardest part was probably taking off the wheel, and even that wasn't hard at all!!!

Some dealerships will want to rape you on the 'activation' fee and you just gotta call different dealerships for it.

Either way, +1 for Evan @ Tischer BMW.
