Wrong tail lights installed?

So our tail lights don't match. The outer light on the left is all red, the outer light on the right has an amber insert (still appears mostly red), but lights up orange versus the other side. I finally got time to go through the owners manual today and can't find any good reason for this. Did the factory grab the wrong parts? The all red is US?

so the left side doesnt blink orange ? If it blinks red, i'd assume you didnt get the wrong part, but that the part was produced missing the orange insert, since a light that blinks red is useless US or not.. I think the US E90s have an orange "hue" to the red pieces..

Left flashes pure red and is red when off.
Right flashes orange and has a slightly visible orange tint when viewed closely.

I will dig in and pull them for part numbers soon. I think my current ETK is Euro E90 only.

Have the exact same problem, the left side is a red turn signal, the right side is a yellow turn signal. Just picked the car up on Friday, going to call the dealer today and see about getting the left side changed out to match the right side. Did you have any problems getting them exchanged? This might be a BMW/supplier problem.

I have heard that the turning signals are red for US models, but models in other parts of the world have a red signal that lights up amber. Maybe you got one light from another country installed.

I would much rather have an amber turning signal. I used to have a VW Jetta that had all red lights in the rear, but whenever the turning signal was used, it would flash amber. This is much better for distinguishing between the brake lights and a turning signal.

My dealer is going to replace it whenever I can get there. The other cars on their lot are all red in the rear. Definitely an assembly line problem.

I hope you are wrong, Michael... I really would prefer amber lights for turning signals.

Completely agree. Can someone confirm which turning signal reflector is supposed to be in the US models? Thanks...
