SSTT has been great for me. It is the best upgrade for those that want a great power gain with again, ease of installation and removal and a quality product that doesn't throw codes. Be warned though, if you are hp hungry you may get tired of your mod quickly. I have had mine for a month and am contemplating on switching to Helix and or adding DP's if the SSTT2 doesn't come out anytime soon.

BUT: The Turbo Tuner(SSTT) can be installed or uninstalled in seconds.
and Procede`s estimated Installation Time is 30-45 mins
I think it's more like: (otherwise stock)

Stock: 275whp / 280wtq
SSTT: 315whp / 330wtq : Gains of 40whp / 50wtq
Procede: 345whp / 360wtq : Gains of 70whp / 80wtq (and much higher at redline)
(2.1)

With DP/Intake/Exhaust:

Stock: 295whp/310wtq
SSTT: 330whp/350wtq : Gains of 35whp / 40wtq
Procede: 385wh/400wtq : Gains of 90whp / 90twq
(2.1)

You simply can't compare the tunings. The SSTT alters one ECU parameter, the PROcede alters fuel, ignition timing and boost. The PROcede makes more power. However, the PROcede V2.0.n has some issues which will be fixed in release V2.1, AFAIK.

here is a basic summary of what is going on in the tuning world of 335 now. it will give you a head up on your search:

- JuiceBox Stage 2 ( X integration can be added)
- Vishnu Procede V1 or V2
- AA Procede
- Helix Attache
- SSTT

here is all that i can think of now, people feel free to chime in to add on more~

the basic idea of all those tune is that the SSTT produce the least amount of power yet it is relatively the easiest one to install and uninstall, it's just a plug n play thing.

all other tunes involve opening the ecu box and switching wires. However, no wire cutting or shredding is needed, it's all about connecting one fine wire to the other.

so far there is a debate going on between JuiceBox and Procede as to which one is more reliable. it seems like, to me, that more people are switching over. Please don't flame me on this, this is just an observation...

anyways, we can't tell you the whole development progress, you need to do your own research and choose the brand you think suit you the best.

I personally chose JB2X~!!

... the new AA Interceptor is called AA Active Processor ...

Some people are switching over from the PROcede to other tunes since a while. I am one of them .

OP -

The Procede and SSTT are marketed to two very different users. It seems to me that the Procede user is somebody who values absolute power above all else. However be warned that if you look around this forum enough you will see a large number of posts of Procede causing problems. It seems to me that many (not all) of those are caused by installation issues but still. You can tailor the Procede to your car/driving style and upgrade it with software. Procede has control over more aspects of the engine and is far more sophisticated. However many people break connectors while installing/removing it. Try explaining that to your dealership during a warranty visit...

The SSTT is marketed to somebody who wants decent power gains but wants a "set it and forget it" solution. The very few people who have had issues with the SSTT have (for the most part) not been able to narrow their problems down to the SSTT as opposed to being something with their cars. SSTT is the ONLY tuning product besides Dinan that is marketed in a select few BMW dealerships. Installation is extremely simple and leaves no trace behind.

Just know that SSTT is less expensive and less powerful but seemingly less likely to cause problems with the car.

The real choice is SSTT, JB or Dinan. Procede is so 2007!

I know there is a bunch of stuff out there regarding different tuners, so it's kind of hard to search unless you put in key words.
Maybe I should make this thread a sticky.

I love my procede V2......not a single problem w/ it and procede in one configuration or another has been on my car for just about a full year and 20k miles.
Tons of power and I like the user adjustability. Just like any tune w/ a turbo, you really should install a boost gauge so you know whats going on.

This is the first numbers I have seen for SSTT with DP's. Why are the gains minimal with the downpipes?

I've had Procede V2 for 6 months now with no limps, no codes, no problems over a spread of close to 20 different maps. I'm really not sure why some are having problems but........

I love the ability to datalog, the ability to adjust the torque output, the O2 sensor simulator for DP's, the valet mode, it just has so many features and makes as much if not more power than any other tune out there. They can also be had pretty cheaply these days on the for sale forum.

Also don't forget V2.1 is coming and so far has been very impressive with the Beta maps. It really is leaps and bounds better than V2.0.X in normal driving and at WOT. I think the guys that hold on to their Procede will be happy they did.

The SSTT is install it and forget it which is great. But if you're like me and love to tune and tinker, the Procede should be considered.
