Exclamation DIY: Relocate Front Fender Tabs to Eliminate Rubbing by Chowbow

The bumper and fender both need a bit of cutting, and a hole drilled in each one. It's easiest to drill the hole first before cutting anything or even taking any of the bolts out so you know it will fit right.

The bumper has a little metal bracket tucked into it that needs to be cut too, but once you have it off it's really easy to see what I mean. And on the fender, once you cut the metal bracket off there's a bit of hard black plastic that needs to be cut off too.

I'm using Chowbow's DIY guide to relocate the front fender tabs in order to buy a few extra mm of clearance. My meaty Michelin PSS were doing a number on my bumper when I'd take it through the canyons and since I've got an autox in 2 weeks I need to make some clearance.

1) Remove fender liners

2) Match-drill a new hole from the bumper into the fender with the bumper still attached so you know it will line up

3) Remove Bumper - reference Pelican Parts DIY guide

4) Admire ETS intercooler and ER competition dual oil coolers

5) Use dremel to remove troublesome fender tabs

6) Re-Install bumper using a self tapping screw at freshly drilled holes

Thank you Chowbow
