I did this exact conversion this spring and don't regret it one bit. Pre-lci to lci m sport is huge jump in looks especially with the e90. You should get the performance carbon fiber front splitters and spoiler to complete the look.

I have the spoiler just trying which decide which to put it on. 3m tape or batalink. Any thoughts?

Looks awesome! I want to do the exact same conversion on mine, so I'm wondering what the cost was, all said and done... I'm having trouble finding parts for less than an arm and a leg.

About the spoiler, I swapped a chevy v8 into my Rx7 a few years ago, and needed a hood scoop because of the air cleaner. It's a CF scoop and I tried different kinds of epoxy, plastic weld, etc... and what's still holding it on today is 3M tape.

It's a hood scoop, so its job is to literally fight the wind at all times, and it's never budged.

Thanks!

Here's the cost break down as I remember.

Truck and LCI tail light = $500 (got from a crash car)
Hood = traded for extra tail lights I had.
hood painted = $500 (needed extra work to be perfect)
Rear bumper already painted = $500
Front bumper $350(eBay) + paint 360 = $710
Side skirt $100 (ebay) + painted 100 = $200
Headlight $1350 complete eBay
Idrive = $2000
frm2 = $75
combox = $350

Parts total = $4185 (leave out wheels)
No labor - My brother did all the install and I did the most of the coding.

shoot me a PM I'd be happy to help you find parts on the cheap.

I'm torn like Natalie Imruglia... Half of me wants to do this exact conversion, idrive and all, but the other half of me says it's just a 330. It's only got 60k miles, but do I save the money and look at an M3 down the road? If it was a 335, i don't think I'd have as much hesitation.

Congrats on the build though, it looks amazing. Definitely puts me in closer to one direction than the other.

Thank you!

Honestly, if it was not for my brother helping me with the install I would have never done this.

The reason I can't get an M3 is insurance is just too high.

But if that is not an issue for you, M3 all the way man! In my OPINION, it's one of the best cars!

Did you need to swap any modules to do the LCI headlights?

I swap out frm1 for a frm3 but had some issues with coding and the taillights not working correctly. So swap the frm3 for a frm2 and everything coded correctly with the frm2

The headlights was purchase as completed set so nothing on the headlight it self was swap. and no rewiring was done.

Build date on VO was changed, that's it. IIRC.

Looks nice. I just blacked out my 07 335i with kidneys, finishing rods, splitters, 335 badge and depo smoked tails and it transformed mine for about $300. If you're going to go lci you have to go M sport or nothing IMO
