military guys please read....

My buddy is currently home from Iraq, he's army. He has no clue how military sales work, I personally was baffled. I don't know much about it, obviously I'm not military. If you could please post here or if you could email him at brendan.wentz@us.army.mil to fill him in he would really appreciate it. If he doesn't respond immediately he is going back to Iraq within the week and should be off for good in 2-4 months and would love to rock a BMW like many of us.... Please either contact me or email him as he would love to get a BMW!!!! Hook it up brothers!!!

Darkcloud,
I'm an Army Officer currently residing in lovely Baghdad. I just ordered an 08 335i but not through military sales. Tell him to go to www.firstchoicemsp.com and create an account. The rest is all spelled out for him. Hope this helps.

As of now it's Fort Bragg, but he is trying to change to another location once he officially back from Iraq.

Last night we filled out the info request from on-line at pentagon sales for him so he should get some info from there as well.

give angela verde of superiormotorsmsp and she'll be able to order him a bmw thru military sales. bmw military sales sells bmws at invoice price i believe, so if he wanted a 335i e92, price b4 options is 37050, i would kno! or u can go with what Montego92 said, practically the same program, same pricing just different sales rep. i just got bak from iraq too, so i'm glad hes safe rite now and hes comin home in the next few months.

It works overseas. I bought mine through the program in the UK. You can have it delivered to the States. There will probably be an AAFES military car sales rep in Iraq, but BMW wont be available through them. Im sure he wont have a problem doing it all via email as previously suggested. I know several people have done that.

It works when you're stationed overseas, or deployed (has to be over 90 or 180 days, not sure which one). I got orders to Germany and leaving in July. One can actually order car from States, having military orders in hand, and have the car ready when you get there. The person I'm talking to is Bob Helms from Pentagon Car Sales. His email is bob.helms@pentagoncarsales.com

Yeah just have him order it through pentagon car sales. As long as he has a copy of his orders.

The BMW military sales program is not AAFES related. You do have to be overseas or have been recently deployed. With AAFES you have to be overseas for 90 days, but you can order your car up to 90 days after getting back (Those were the rules last time I checked). I just ordered a 335i from a BMW MSP Osan, Korea. I brought the pricing to a dealership in the States and they told me they couldn't beat it and just order it through them. I'll ask the guy in Osan the details and I'll get back to you.

Everything sounds good. He was definitely overseas for longer then 90 days. He's been deployed since thanksgiving and is going back for another 30-60 days after this week.

Also please feel free to email him directly with the email addy I gave in the first post.

Another option he can go with is USAA. They can negotiate with the dealer for you so you can just walk in sign a few papers and leave I think their normal deal is $500 over invoice out the door.

There are many dealerships that do MSP. Some located in the Middle East (Kuwait, Qatar) and some located in Germany.
The process goes:
1) Order your car
2) Place your $2000 deposit (for E92s, for E90s I think it's $1000)
3) You get your order number
4) You get notified your car is done
5) You make payment
6) Car is delivered to a dealership or your choice stateside where you are responsible for taxes and licensing

Forgot to mention that I did not opt to order through MSP. I got mine from Will@longbeachbmw. After crunching numbers, I found that ordering from Will was competitive. Adding taxes, licensing, especially considering that I got 4.9% financing through BMW. The lowest rate I got from a private bank was 6.9%. Also dealing with him was much easier.

+1 He can use Pentagon or just email one of the BMW military car sales reps in Germany. Its not a hard process at all. As long as he has orders and pays the $2k, everything else is cake.

The easiest thing to do (this is what I did) is go to http://www.pentagoncarsales.com/bmw/
and at the bottom under "Info Request" fill out the form and a rep will respond.

I believe pentagon car sales is the BMW military sales rep for Europe. When i submitted my form, they forwarded me inquiry to Unilife Services BMW Sales in Japan, as that was my TDY location. Basically, there are military sales programs that are in charge of different regions, depending on the location of your deployment or TDY/TAD.

Once they receive your inquiry, everything else is simple. They will take you through it step by step, answering all questions.

The only requirements for eligibility are that the person is miltary or DoD Civilian/Contractor deployed or TDY/TAD overseas for the minimum of 24hrs.

More info can be found on the official BMW Military Sales website:

Direct quote from PentagonCarSales website

"Is it possible to participate in the BMW Military Sales Program if Iím stationed in the USA?
No, in order to use this special program your Duty Station must be located outside the USA and itís territories. Alternatively, you must be in possession of TDY/TAD orders (or deployed) to a foreign location at the time you place your BMW order".

Here's the link...this is their FAQ section:
