Same here. I have received the same $2875 quote from several dealers on the extended BMW warranty. Similar pricing from AAA. I'm waiting on quotes from Easy Care and Guardian. Has anyone had any experience with any 3rd party firms selling warranties?

the closest one that come to mind is Geico Mechanical Insurance that had cost me an additional $40 every six months over my car premium. It works like the BMW warranty that covers any breakdown after your Factory warranty expires, I had it on my last 06 e90 325i thinking that I would keep it pass 50k miles. Its would have been a good deal until i decided to trade it in for a Green Daily Car. This can only be purchased though with Geico new car policy and must be done prior to the first 15 mos of purchase.
Its a great deal for those new car owners thinking of keeping their car past 50k miles. Just add the BMW Maintenance Warranty for $1695 for 2yr/100k miles then its a no brainer I think.

Extended Waranty

My car has 49500 miles and I need to shop around in my area to get both the ext. waranty/maintenace. I remember when VOB offered both for $2,800 a year later after I bought my 06 330i and I was hoping to get the same deal now, but after reading all these posts, I am scared to ask.

I will let you know what I found.

Has anyone done the analysis on how much factory recommended maintenance costs out of pocket for the additional two years? Is it more than 2K? Same with the extended warranty. I have had my Bimmer for two years and have 22K, most of those miles are from a round trip from San Antonio to Denver, and San Antonio to Richmond. I am sure I will hit the years before the miles.

Here is a link to a post on bimmerfest that might be of interest to those considering the purchase of an extended warranty or maintenance plan:

After a bunch of research, I reached out and contacted a family friend who works at a BMW dealership who set me up with "family pricing", which cut through a lot of the markup involved in these warranties. Although I still find these warranty extensions pretty pricey in general, I do feel as though I got the best deal. I pulled the trigger and spent $3636 on the following:

1) BMW Extended Maintenance for $1445 which gets me an additional 2 years and 50,000 miles beyond my factory coverage.

2) Extended Warranty coverage (3rd Party) for $2191 which gets me an additional 5 years and up to 90,000 miles for my car (covers all electronics, including Navigation/iDrive). No deductible as long as I go to the dealership in which the warranty was purchased.

Here's my findings:

I called 3 separate local dealerships, and all three dealerships had the BMW Extended Maintenance selling between $1895 - $2195... (Tischer sells it for $1895). The same three dealerships also had the BMW Extended Warranty (only an additional 2 years 50k miles) selling between $2875 - $3100, and keep in mind that this "BMW offered" Extended Warranty DOES NOT cover electronics... It was this reason alone that made my decision to go to a 3rd party insurance company pretty easy.

Can you post or PM me on the 3rd party insurance company you chose. I am still debating between AAA Autoguard out of NY, EasyCare and Fidelity. The last two are sold by two BMW dealers in my area.

I went with CNA National Warranty Corporation - and got the "Automotive Preferred Care" coverage. The warranty was sold from a local dealership. Their website didn't have much information, but the brochure and the items covered were much more detailed.

I want to bring this thread back to life...

Any final decision by folks?
I have the extended maintenance plan, but the warranty ends in june or at 50k.

Anyone buy an extended warranty? If so, how much and from which dealership/company?

VOB quoted me a 5 year / 100k mi warranty for $2620, that's fully refundable/pro-ratable if the car is sold...

Any other figures out there?

Keep it going.........
JMK in NJ.
The extended maint. plan is for 2 extra years or up to 100k miles and price for that is 1645 plus tax
all maint items in your original maint are covered there is not deductible to perform maint.

As for the extended warranty that is 3375.00 plus tax
that does carry a 50 deductible due if there is any warranty work done per repair order. so just to clarify if you have 1 0r 10 items that are covered its just 1 $50 charge, there are some items that are not covered such as wear and tear( suspension , trm iand some seals) also audio components.
