So I ordered a 335i E90 (w/sport pkg) and was told by the GM that if it didn't come in with Michelin PS2's, they would get them and install them for me. Of course the car arrives with Bridgestones
My CA says no problem, he's on it. Well, he calls today and says that Michelin doesn't make PS2 RFT's in the 18" size, implying that I'd have to take the 'stones. I said that he was wrong, that I've seen them offered on Tire Rack. He checked on the Michelin site supposedly and they don't list it there. I looked and I couldn't find it either. Am I screwed? Why are they shown on Tire Rack but not on the Michelin site? BTW, Tire Rack says the rear tire isn't available until 5/2/08. I've already waited 8 weeks for the car so what's another week or so???![]() |

Subscribed! I am looking to replace my Bridgestone RFTs with the Michelin PS2 ZP. Is anyone on here running them currently? Should I just ditch the RFT version & go PS2 non-RFT? Ideas, suggestions welcome...
Sorry for the ![]()

I have the PS2 Run flats, they are FAR superior to the Bridgestones in everything except steering response. They even ride better than the set of NON-runflat goodyear all seasons I ran for the winter.
With respect to availability: There are currently none in stock or in reserve nationwide. Michelin has plans to start a production run sometime early summer, so you should start seeing them JUNE/JULY timeframe. They are worth the wait. see my post on there here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=129738 |

I contacted Michelin about this last week.
They told me that the 17" run flats are NOT available and they don't have any plans for them to be available this year. I'm seriously considering replacing the RFT's with 1000 miles on them with non-RFT PS2's and buying a compact spare for the trunk. But that totals out at about $1,500. If I got $400 for my RFT's, I'm spending $1,100 for this change. So I might keep the RFT's for about 1/2 to 2/3 of their life and then dump them. That way I'll see how much harsher they get as the miles accumulate. I live close to some pretty rough roads and the RFT's are pretty harsh. They are fine on smooth roads. |

Gary from Tire Rack was a big help. He confirmed that the PS2 runflats are not going to be available for distribution until late May or early June. So I asked for his recommendation for something other than the Bridgestones and he suggested Pirelli PZero RFT. They are in stock so I told the dealer to order those, and they did. Should arrive in a couple of days so I'll finally get to pick up my new 335i E90...finally

Good info guys. I have about 17,500 on my 'stones and may be able to make 20,000 miles. I too saw the 05/02 date on Tire Rack's site but could probably make mid June or July if I "tiptoe" for the next 2,500. My biggest concern is the deluge of rain we've had lately. I'm at 4/32" on LF, RF & LR. RR is about 3/32" now. Not comforting in the rain...
