New 335i Conv. New member

I just wanted to introduce myself. I Just took delivery of a 2008 E93 Conv. Black Sapphire/black on Thursday from Desert BMW of Henderson in NV. I drove the car thru AZ up thru NM and it was a great drive (the car is very capable for a three)...... I was pulled over in AZ and was issued a WARNING!!!! ??? The kind hearted patrolman was very interested in the car.

so this is my 7th new BMW... I am a Car Dealer and most of the cars go to my wife (this one is no different!) She has had the option of whatever she wants and she never wants anything but a BMW.

I've always been of the mindset that Mods detract future resale value but strangely I've become very interested in the Dinan Performance upgrade as I feel this kind of gain for the small expenditure (who are we kidding... NOT an investment) is an absolute bargain... I would be happy to hear any of your experience on this subject. I can also offer spirited conversation on almost any european car out there as I've driven ALMOST every car built. I'll post pics in the AM..
Cheers.

I was of the exact same mind as you before this purchase. I have had a lot of cars, but never aggressively modified. So, I got the 335 xi, saving about 30-50K over my other options (GT-R, Porsche, etc), and started to modify. For, me, my mod plan will help the car stay fresh in my mind, as my problem in the past has been getting bored with my ride.

I was kind of trying to turn the stock package into an AWD M3, or something close to a Porsche in terms of handling and power, but retain the BMW ride. It has been fun and educational.

So, whereas the M3 has 420 hp, I am nearing 400 with my mods, and probably better acceleration at lower speeds than the M3..but of course, the 6 cyl TT will never be like the M3 V8. On the other hand, the suspension mods definately got me closer to the Porsche oversteer feeling.

Plus, all the little exterior mods are a kick, and pretty cheap. It's reminiscant of my days driving Mustangs, where every one has little things they've done to the exterior to make them unique.

So, go for it!

There are also a lot of guys here focused solely on performance/track, so you've got options there too.
