Suspension issues with High Mileage E90's

To you high mileage E90 owners, have any of you noticed any degrading in your handling. Over the last month or so I noticed that im starting to get a little bump steer and handling at the limit is not as good as it was. I suspect that my suspension bushings are wearing out kind of like my E46 does. I am about 4k from my next scheduled oil change so I will have the dealer check it out.

I have 34,xxx on mine and I noticed the following:

1) Noisy bushings (upon compression), recently tended to by SA with lubing. The problem is most apparent after rain and/or low temperatures. I figure it might be some exposure to various 'undercarriage treatment' at some line car washes, drying up the bushings prematurely.

2) My shocks seem loose/worn . I noticed more roll, float and bump steer (mid corner bumps and dips) and the compression (on dips and crests) just feels 'squishy' and more pronounced.

I'm on the following setup: non-ZSP shocks/stabilizers, eibach pro-kit springs (installed about15k miles ago), 19" CSL reps staggered with P-Zero Nero's.

I'm well aware of the possible degradation of stock shocks with aftermarket springs and not 100% sure if the 2 are related in this situation given that the eibach's are progressive and mild (drop) and the fact only about 15k miles have passed since their installation. I do HOWEVER commute regularly into DC with its infamous moon-crater surface streets so that might be the reason but still, I expected the stock shocks to be a little bit more robust. I'll check with my SA to see what he can do if not I guess coilovers it is then (sooner than planned).

update!
Well yesterday I had to have my front tires replaced due to severe cupping I asked the tire place what they thought caused it and they said I might need new front struts. I guess I will see what the dealer says my next service is in 2k miles. BTW currently at 78500 miles.

Control arm bushings.

Maybe use this as an opportunity to upgrade: coilovers, sways, control arms, and tires. Some labor savings if you do it all at the same time. Maybe brakes while you are at it.

I was looking at the control arms and they look nothing like my E46 and don't look like they would have the same wear issues.

I don't want to lower my car but I am thinking of Bilstein HD Shock's.

Tires are new Loving the PS-2's.

Breaks are still fine 50% +

Bilstein HDs or Koni fsds should be fine. But something is off (alignment, or some bushings are allowing movement) if your tires were cupping. And you don't want to mess up your PS2s.

So I ordered some rear Bilstein HD shocks from Bav-auto for my e46 and they sent me the shocks for the e90 so I said what the Hell and I installed them in the e90 and low and behold 90% of my issues are gone now all I have to do is replace the fronts and I will see where I stand.

Yup, you have pretty high mileage for stock shocks. Once you have new ones on the front, you will be golden again I suspect.

I'd say by about 60k miles on stock shocks would be about the limit before they're pretty worn. I think the new shocks will make the car handle and feel a lot better. On lower springs and stock shocks, a few thousand miles and they're done.

Wtf? How did Bav-Auto screw up like that? I thought they're a big reputable company. So, are the shocks the same for a E90 and a E46 causing them to fit in your E90?

I just read your thread right now. Any car that passes 60k to 70k miles usually need to have shocks inspected and possibly replaced. Bushings may help with the tightness of the car too.
