as non track wheels? I mean, you dont fail, but for everyday use (not something that gets the shit beaten out of it), i wouldnt really put 2nd tier parts on a 1st teir car.

thats just me, but to each his own.

i was thinking of putting rota rims on my E90 for everyday use but changed my mind due to selling my car, but your comment is kinda ignorant if you ask me rotas are awesome wheels and a bmw isn't some superior car like you make it out to be being that more then half of this forum have replica rims

I dunno, it is a superior car (in terms of finish and style) compered to the regular rota buyers.

I live in a pothole prone area (caltrans FTL), and need a strong 3 piece wheel, but if your in a world of perfect roads, go ahead. They will just weigh more. They look good because they are reps. Most reps look good, because the style they are copying is good enough to replicate.

I got Rota SVN's and they are great wheels for that price range. And yes, I will track with these primarily but they are seeing some street use now and most compliments have been positive. True that there are more stronger wheels out there and everyone has a different taste, but when a product is experienced then you can have an opinion....

if not,

One of my buddys has rotas on his prelude, and he isnt the biggest fan of em. I dont hate them like a lot of people do, but its the whole caliber of the car thing that gets me. These are relatively new cars (for a lot, almost brand new), and can end up costing upwards of 50K (easily), is that the kind of car you cheap out on your wheels for?

not in my opinion.

I hear what you are saying....but not everything that is "expensive" out there for these cars merrits all the attention. all I am saying is that if you do your research good enough you will find that some less expensive products out there outperform the more expensive. in the case of wheels not all forged wheels are as strong as you think. hit a forged wheel hard enough on a pothole and you can bent it as well as a cheaper wheel. the economics rule in this case i.e. paying for a forged wheel replacement vs. non-forged wheel replacement? I have learned my lesson with pricey wheels in the past....so I gave Rota a try and haven't been dissapointed yet. goes to show that don't knock something until you try it....

with other products you def don't want to go cheap!

Rotas have a great reputation. The weight and quality assurance shot was totally baseless.

I ran Rotas on my WRX for 4 years and they were awesome, and Boston roads are far from "perfect." They're a wreck, in fact. Mine took a number of hits in potholes, cracks, freeze joints, etc, and never bent even a tiny bit.

Elitist snobs FTL.
