I love nurburgring videos. It looks like you had alot of fun. I know you not very familiar with the track because of some of the lines you decided to take, and i see that you a little affraid of the elevation changes.

Also with this car, you dont need to keep the revs that high to have full torque. Shift a little more often, dont let it ride so high. And remember one thing about road racing, slow in approach fast out.

Of course this is just my opinion from my 10 year Racing experience.

Thanks for the advice. This was my 6th lap on the track so I definitely need to study the lines. I understand the slow in fast out approach and was trying to apply that but the reason my exit speed was so slow is the DSC. I think my entry speed can be faster, but my exit speed definitely needs to improve. Too bad my diff is welded or I would get the LSD in a heartbeat. If you don't mind, please critique me in PM on where I can improve my lines.

PS. I am not afraid of elevation change (I'm an attack helicopter pilot), I'm afraid of unfamiliar blind corners.

Sorry to disturb the topic, but how does someone enter the Ring for a few laps? I tried their website but no luck...Thanks!

PS: Great video! Thanks for sharing.

Sweet! I'm doing my Euro Delivery in June and originally really wanted to drive the 'ring, but it looks to only be open for Touristenfahrten for a couple of hours on the one night I had available, so I didn't want to chance it with my intinerary

The entrance to the Nordschleife is located on the eastern edge of the town of Nurburg so follow the signs to the town, you'll be ok. You'll see the BMW Performance Center, keep going till you leave the town, you'll see the castle on your left if you are approaching from the west and you'll come to a traffic circle where the entrance is. Tickets are available by the gate as seen in this photo, anybody can get in as long as they have valid plates and insurance:

Accel Junky: Clear your schedule for the Ring, it is worth it. But an afternoon at the track is more than enough. I only spent about 30 minutes there on 6 May (didn't even bother setting up the camera), did 2 laps (1 for wife and 1 for me).

Yeah the closest I have gotten was on my 360/PS3.

I really want to drive it for real, looks like a great experience.

Defineitly something that I hope to do before I die.

Hey nice video!
I was there 2 weeks ago. Drove self one lap. Tickets are now 21 euro for one lap.
Last year they were 19euro. Everytime when i drive it i get such an adrenaline rush thats 100 euro for gass(octane 100) totall worth it!!! @ the ring my topspeed is about 170km/h and the ride backhome on the german highway i maxx the car @ 240km/h hehe.
And yea its totally a thing to do before you die!!
Here a link for dates and webcam.

Lap looked nice and safe, after a while you will easily go 20-30 seconds faster

LOL, you calling me slow? I actually plan on knocking a minute off that time the next time I hit the Ring, which is not difficult considering I had to go through 2 sections of the course at 50kph due to construction and I had no idea what I was doing.

That was a fun video....was like being there for the lap. Tx for posting. Also, I thought you looked pretty damn comfortable considering how complex that track really is, and how long. Good stuff.

Yeah, I should have hit the gas station before going to the track but I was getting 30 mpg on the way there and I had 1/4 tank left so I said what the heck. Apparently 1/4 tank = 2 laps on the Nurburgring. LOL On tourist days, there's a speed limit on the final straight away leading back to the entrance/ exit
