Orange Peel Paintwork
Why is the finish nearly always an orange peel effect on new cars?
I sell Peugeots and nearly all the cars are like that, didn't expect it on BMWs but it is! I'm not being funny but if I'd bought a brand new BMW I would not be accepting it, have any of you complained about this problem? Why don't they paint a car properly?

Isn't it down to the fact that they can't use all those nasty chemicals anymore?? Seem to remember reading something like that but could be completely wrong....

Maybe its not as bad as some others or your car is completely free of it? Have you had correction work done? have you owned from new?

Think you might have some op - look at the line between the light and dark reflections and you can see that it's not straight, I suspect this is the effect of OP, OR, maybe what it's reflecting isn't straight!
However, I really don't mind the OP, this is from an occupational OCD'er, as it hides any minor dings you may get at the carpark. really smooth, wet sanded paint will has nowhere to hide any minor bleamishes |

Paint looks good but there's still a hint of orange peel there mate. If you focus on the reflection of the cloud on your right quarter panel, the cloud appears a little 'pixelated' or textured. Not knocking your car, just pointing it out for informative purpose. Also I think your color helps minimize the appearance of orange peel unlike Jet Black.

IIRC all cars have OP even say Aston Martins but they wet sand cars in the factory to get rid. There's a guy on detailingworld that wet sanded his lexus and got rid of it. I think they could do something about it but choose to save the cost, tbh although I take great pride in my cars appearance I don't mind OP.
