best bet is to put the headlight into oven..
preheat the oven at 225 degree... and turn it off
put the headlight and leave it in there for 20-25minutes....
take it out of the oven, use the flat head driver and pry it open

Jason and I both attempted this when the E90 came out, with no success (and I have done preludes, nissans, etc) Jason actually melted a light, I got mine to the point where the plastic was beginning to distort. I cut out some adhesive and heated the hell out of it, and it was not heat sensitive whatsoever.

I wonder if a different adhesive is being used now.

Doing research on my sisters G35 Ive come across what are known as DEMON EYES. The insructions clearly state to put the headlights in the oven for 20 minor so at 215deg.. there is a couple of people that have done it and have no problems reusing the same glue thats on there!! How wierd that infinitis lights will reseal but bmws will not???

All in the adhesive. I used to install Demon eyes years ago, the nissan lights come apart and reseal pretty easy.

so that grey thing is behind the amber reflector once you take it out?

I have done many headlights in my life time, matter of fact last week I did my friends 2002 Audi A6 xenon headlights. And a month before I did some guys A4 (One of his headlights ended up foging up later, first one ever out of like the 20 I have did)

What I have found is that if you put the headlights in a pre-heated (for five min) oven at 150 for 15min you just need to give it one good pry on the edge and remove it with your hands, do what you have to do within 5min (trust me that is enough time to pop an amber reflector out) and put the lens back on pop it back in the pre-heated oven for 7-10min, remove it, push down and hold down next to a fan or A/C unit till the headlight cools down, make sure everything is pushed and held in all the way before you start cooling it, if you have a friend, use him/her, double check the prying area to make sure it is sealed (if not, use some sealer to seal it) and your finished. WHEN YOU PUT IT IN THE OVEN, MAKE SURE ALL PLASTIC/RUBBER THAT ARE NOT HARD REMOVED (the ones that are stretchy.) Make sure you leave all lights/covers in place so the headlight stays sealed as it is in the oven.

Remember at 150 nothing could really happen to your headlights, with your engine above 300, and a hot summer day at 100+ your headlights look great!

I do not suggest a heat-gun because I have seen many people burn, fog up, and mess up their headlights with the head-gun.

Remember, always use PROTECTION, and do this at your own risk! Do not be like my hold friend and remove the headlight with his hands (no protection)

I tried this today with a busted xenon light I bought from ebay.
not a piece of cake and I doubt I would try this on my car.

Once in awhile you do see the clear Euro halogens on eBay. Bavarian Auto Recyclers also has a few on occasion, but they are a bit unreliable and have found them to lie on occasion about what they actually have in stock. They aren't the most well organized company.

Hi, Im going to attempt to do this to my VW golf MK4 lights. I bought some blue neon halo rings and want to fit them. It says on the instructions to get open the headlight i can place it in the oven (also like some of you said) it does not say about turning the oven off though whilst its in there. Will the plastic not start to melt if i leave it in there whilst on ??? Have any of you tried it with a vw golf headlight before??
