Thanks

If the weather is nice this weekend (which it seems it never is in Pittsburgh in spring), I'll get some good outside shots with my DSLR.

I followed this to take off the bumper cover:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ghlight=grills

Then you simply unsnap the old grilles and snap in the new ones. I surmise that you could remove the belly shield and try to replace the grilles while the bumper cover is still attached, but I have access to a lift and pneumatic tools so taking off the whole cover was a breeze.

Here's a really bad picture of the rear of the bumper cover. I have circled the tabs that hold the grilles in place

I used 3m tape as well as drilling to secure the Hamman CF lip on my car.

thanks for the picture ....

gonna change my lower grilles soon, i just wondered how they were attached. I couldnt tell from just looking in and under so i painted them as a tempoary mod but they are beggining to stone chip. Will be brave and take the front bumper off to do it properly next oppertunity.

The lip was pre-drilled, but i wasn't satisfied with how durable the lip would be using only those as attachment points. So...I drilled a couple of holes and used 1/4" expanding rivets to sure it up.

Didn't use the double sided tape or Betalink, but perhaps I should have, considering since I installed it a few days ago I've grounded it 3 times.

Something tells me I'll be replacing the whole cover some time before the fall

No high quality pics yet as it rained pretty much the whole weekend - that is of course except for when I was on the golf course

I thought about just painting the stock mesh, but I knew that I wanted to install a front lip and would be taking off the whole cover any way...It worked out quite well for me, now I don't have to worry about chipping the paint ...

How do you like the lip?

Hows the clearance? Do you have a measurement from it to the ground that you can share? =)

I'm obviously thinking about one.

I definitely get a lot of double takes on the car now.

The front of my car is pretty stealth-y (with matte black and carbon wrapped kidneys [from Cyba], black lower mesh [from UED], the CF Hamann lip [from M-Force], painted reflectors [from Longtran] and black & white CF roundels all around [also from M-Force]) - so I'm lovin the attention that the lip has brought to the package.

I'm planning on painting the calipers black to complete the look (and maybe black-ing out the chrome window trim) and I should be finished.

I'll measure the clearance for you tonight, but it's pretty low. I'm not running springs or coil-overs because here in Pittsburgh there are just so many uneven roads and potholes that I'd risk ripping off the lip on day one. To that end, my car is an every-day driver so it's definitely functional even with the addition of the lip.

My recommendation is go for it. Dallas roads can't be any where as nasty as they are here...

I measured the clearance and it's between 4.5" and 4.75" with the center being the lowest part of the lip.

Again I'm on stock suspension...
