V K Motorwerks Oil Cooler Info and Release Details...
It is a well known fact that the potential of the 335i is limited by the inefficiency of it’s stock oil cooling system. The optimal oil temperature is very critical to the engine’s longevity and performance. The OEM oil cooler maybe sufficient for a stock 335i under normal driving conditions. However, under rigorous driving it fails to keep the oil temps below 300F.
We have been working diligently on producing a high quality oil cooler at a reasonable price. Below you will find pictures of our oil cooler, the lines, and the oil filter housing and thermostat. At the moment we are finishing up the louver design and mounting brackets. Also you will find the specification of our oil cooler compared to Dinan and the BMW sports package oil cooler. There will be an upgrade and a full kit available for those who don’t have any oil cooler. We will be releasing the oil cooler upgrade first and then follow up with the complete kit. The upgrade kit consists of: • V K Motorwerks high performance oil cooler • Heavy duty lines • Fittings • Thermostat (core exchange with refundable deposit of $80 additional to the upgrade kit price) • High quality louver and mounting bracket The complete kit consists of everything you see above along with a new thermostat and oil filter housing. The price for the upgrade will be $999. However, we will be releasing the first batch for a price of only $595! We are expecting to release the oil cooler upgrade in the next 4 to 6 weeks. Please PM me if you are interested in purchasing the oil cooler upgrade kit at this introductory price. At the moment I don’t need your personal information. I just need the following: • Coupe or sedan. • Your location. Thank you for your patience and we look forward to delivering this great product to you. The thermostat will be an OEM unit, however, because we could not guarantee the seal we have to thread it to accept our type of fittings, which we feel are superior. We will send you a thermostat that is compatible with our lines and you will send back your old thermostat. There is no additional cost to this process and won’t cost you anything because we will refund your deposit once your thermostat is returned.

Gimme!
On a serious note - thank you for giving the community a more cost effective alternative to the Dinan upgrade/retrofit. And also, for offering (soon?!) a retrofit kit for those of us who are getting the shaft from BMWNA. Since you are giving out a serious discount for the first few orders of the upgrade, will those of us waiting on the complete kit also receive a comparable discount too? I would be one of those who do not qualify for a factory retrofit because my tires are 1" smaller than required. /sarcasm |

Yes! I don’t expect this to be in large demand so please PM me and let me know that you want the braided lines with the AN fittings and I will get the pricing for you. This will change the price however not by much. The more request I get the cheaper it will be. (economy of scale)

For anyone else interested in the oil filter housing, I found this reference:
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...71&hg=11&fg=30 Don't take my word for it - but this *might* be the right oil filter housing you need if you already do not have it installed in your car. I am going to try and find a parts department that can confirm the correct part number for my VIN. |

The stock fittings push in, seal with an Oring and use a bolt to hold them in with a bracket and pressure.
They have presumably drilled threads into these stock fittings for use with theirs.

Like with most aftermarket parts there will be some modification required, fortunately, the only modification will be to the wheel well cover. You will have to cut out a small section of the wheel well cover so that the OC louver can expel air away from the car and oil cooler. If you don’t want to use your original, you can purchase one from an OEM parts shop, they are not very expensive. |
