LCI hood on pre-lci

I know that a few lci parts need or modification or will not fit on pre-lci's but will an lci e92 hood (not m3) fit on a pre-lci. I know its a pretty dumb question but just wanted to know if any one could help me out.

Also if it does not fit what modifications would need to be done to get it to fit.

Thanks in advance

There were clearly changes with the LCI sedans but are the hoods even different for the coupes?

EDIT: found the answer...

Yes and No... here's why:

The hood by itself... No... reason being is because the new LCI style hood doesn't have 4 separate pieces for the kidney grill, it's only two piece connected to the bumper (like the E92 style)

A whole facelift... yes... if you change the bumper to LCI and the Hood to LCI, you have a fit! ^__^

thats a e90.

op asking about e92.

to answer op question: i dont think u can, the e92 LCI has different shaped headlights and that might affect the fitment overall.

grill is different, so you would need a new bumper and grill for the hood to fit. and that would also require new headlights.

Ive been wondering about it myslef. I think bmw 'recycled' the pre-LCI hood to fit the new grill anfd lights - meaning the top part of the new grill and lights would fit the hood. bumper being the part where they change

lci headlights fit pre lci cars so i would think that they are the same shape so an lci bumper should fit a pre lci without a problem. i believe "fdriller"(sorry if spelled wrong) has dont this mod without changing his headlights.

I did but I have an E90 and the OP is referring to an E92.

It's been awhile but I'm looking for an answer to this as well.

I know we have the answers for the E90.

Still looking for a confirmation of the E92.

I'm positive the headlights need to change for the LCI bumper... not positive about the hood or bumper supports though.

ANYONE???

You can do it with the E90 (Pre-->LCI) if you change the bumper. If you do it with the E92, you'll need to upgrade the headlights (yeah, what a bummer...), bumper, and grilles. It would be extremely expensive.

Surely BMW never changed the moulding of the bumper and hood that much that you need to change everything. Im willing to bet that if you changed the hood it would fit, and all you need is the grille

Physically they mostly fit, but they don't line up very well. It would look like you pieced together the car from junkyard bits because you can't afford to do it properly.
