I've got Bridgestome Potenzas RE050A and I think they're crap.

As a reference for my car, rhd UK car-- the steering is bang on centre and does not pull to the side, so everything seems in order set-up/ alignment wise.

Front tyres 225/ 35/ 19
Weight balance, presumably Zinc
Front O/S 25g on outside of rim, 15g on inside
Front N/S 45g + 40g on outside, 35g on inside (wtf !!)

Rear tyres 255/ 30/ 19
Rear O/S 15g on outside, ? no stamp/ broken weight inside
Rear N/S 15g on outside

19" (non M's) are nice and gappy (and easy to clean), weights are on the inner rim.

Sad I know

You need to have tried both versions of tyre to understand.

Diagnosing through the arseometer tells you which tyres are best.

I think also worth noting diff between e90 and e92.

My e92 335i Msport with 18" RFT is better ride than brother in law e90 320d non-Msport with 17" RFT.

Go figure.

Garage List
I can't remember what make tyres I had/have got however...

...find my '06' E90 330d M Sport (on 18s RFT) handles better than my '56' E92 335i SE (on 19s RTS).

The E90 inspires more confidence than the E92 did, is much flatter round corners/roundabouts at speed however, as mentioned before, is a much firmer ride overall.

The E92 SE had the M sport suspension as standard and, on it's 19s, I would have thought my experience would have been the other way around.

With only 6 months between each vehicle I can't imagine a massive amount of 'tweaking' - could the weight difference play such a large role???

Diesel = heavier nose => harsher ride apparent.
