It was also HQ for the 101st Airborne during WW2 who were barracked in the local villages. It's a couple of miles from my office.

I stayed there in 2002 via a timeshare I had at the time. What a beautiful place (see pics). Hungerford is a cool little village.

I live in Reading and have done for most of my life. Problem around here is most of the best roads have now got speed restrictions and or cameras on them.

If you can put up with this the following are pretty good (you'll have to look up the numbers).

Streatley-on-Thames to Bristol.

Henley to Wallingford

Pangbourne to Wallingford

Reading (Caversham) to Oxford

Wokingham to Twyford

Twyford to Windsor

Reading to Bath (A4)

I'll have a think of any more that I may have missed
