Imression, you're right. Somehow, I "trust" him more than any other person that was in the running (especially "the" woman...)

no no it wasnt offending, it was said in a matter of fact type of way. Generally this type of debating is good for politics/the future of America.

I need to correct one thing before we let this misconception go on too long. Obama has had some significant legislative accomplishments in his short career as a senator.

here you go:

* Time in the Senate: 1,141 days
* Total bills sponsored: 129
* Total bills past committee: 9
* Total bills enacted: 1
* Total bills cosponsored: 545
* Example bills:
o Coburn-Obama Government Transparency Act of 2006
o The 2007 Government Ethics Bill
o The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act

There’s more on Obama’s Wikipedia page for anyone who cares to take the time to look for themselves.

From what you posted here, it looks like Obama has been wholly ineffective. One bill enacted out of 684 in 1,141 days? And this is presidential material?

Almost forgot to ask: What was that one Obama bill that was enacted?

I appreciate you solidifying my point. He's a great speaker, not a leader of a nation nor a leader in the Senate. One bill enacted - ha!

A bill cannot be enacted without the signature of the President. As we all know this republican pres has been pretty veto happy with the democratic congress in his last days.

I believe I've sufficiently proved my point that Obama has sponsored or co-sponsored significant legislation since being a senator. I also believe this sufficiently disproves your assersion that Obama has done nothing but make a few speaches since being a senator.

Another indesputable fact is that of all the presidential candidates on both sides Obama has run the smartest, most well organized and most successful campaign of any of the candidates including Hillary, Romney, and McCain. He's got the nomination and the war chest to show for it.

McCain was almost forced to shut down his campaign due to mismanagement and lack of money early on. So much for experience.

You all do realize that getting one bill enacted in 1,141 days is pretty good. Do any of you realize how hard it is to get a bill enacted?

In the 108th Congress (2002-2004) 8,621 bills were introduced, 498 were enacted into law.

On average about 6% of all bills introduced in congress actually get passed. So when you consider that there are 535 members of congress Obama's figures are pretty good.

Don't let statements like "he only got 1 bill enacted hahaha" fool you into thinking that Obama didn't do much in 3 years because in all reality that couldn't be further from the truth.

If you would credit Obama with 684 bills, then if he were average in getting bills enacted into law, he should be able to claim 39 not just 1. Are you sure you want to credit him with 684 bills? You might be better off finding a way to massage the numbers to show him with 17 bills so that you can claim at least an even record of success at 6%.

No matter how you present it, the numbers are revealing of ineffectiveness. But this is a good thing. I wouldn't want him to be able to accomplish much of anything as Senator or President.

This is somewhat off topic however I am curious to know if you voted for Bush. If so, did you vote for him in both elections?

Too bad you are unable to argue your points without making personal attacks.
But then, this is typical of the Obama campaign and its supporters.
When they cant back it up with substance (since he is so short of it), they resort to name calling... Like anyone that doesn't vote for him is a racist.

For the record, I am the democrat party's worst nightmare... A Hillary Supporter who refuses to vote for Obama. And we are the ones who will tilt this election... Either by voting for McCain or staying home.

http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/06...ive-for-unity/

Despite the overwhelming unpopularity of Bush, why is it that the polls show that this such a close race between Obama and McCain?

Finally, you dont have to be residing in US to be eligible to vote. There are many US citizens living and working overseas...

I voted for Bill Clinton (twice), Gore, and Kerry. And every democrat for President for the last 28 years.

But this time, I will vote for McCain.

First of all, I did not attack you, and you would be the only one to understand it that way, obviously. Please read the following comments before making childish assumptions.

Next, please read Obama and McCain stands on issues before claiming anything else. If you voted (as you claim) for Clinton, Gore, Kerry before, there is absolutely no reason to go against Obama, and even less reason to vote for McCain that has absolutely nothing incommon with people you already voted for... So, it is either the color thing or you're bitter about the loss that the 2-faced bitch suffered...

In the end, whatever of the two is your reason -- I would not be parading with it around here...
