A mate of mine asked me if I fancied going to V Max today at Bruntingthorpe, the only problem would be that I would need to drive one of his cars there.



Now I know it is not an E90 but CHECK IT OUT, it is an Alpina B5, 500 and something bhp, V8 supercharged and derestricted. I have not driven an Alpina before but it is such a car. Rob managed 186 mph showing on the dash today and when you consider that it is fully loaded and swathed in acres of leather it is some achievement. It has such presence.
There was some other quite tasty kit there today, including a McLaren SLR 722, a couple of RUF 911’s and a Diablo.



A great day, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

There was also a 335d E90, anyone’s here?

Looks like a fun day and what a car to let of the leash on a private test track.

I love Alpina's never driven one but with Chris new purchase and Ian's review recently they certainly are making me realise what great cars they make.

The M3 had better brakes and cornering ability.... I think we ‘let’ it win.
Joking aside, the B5’s brakes were its weakest part,


I wish BMW offered head up display on the E90’s it is such a gadget.
