2008-1 Nav & Speed Camera ISO - help please!

Getting frustrated & could do with some help/advice!

I have downloaded the Sergei ISO file .rar files via rapidshare and have tried to extract to DVD (Sony DVD+ R, max x4 speed, finalised burn). All extracted files seems to be in the same structure as the original 2008-1 DVD, but when I load into the car, it keeps asking to insert Nav DVD or says that there is a DVD error (can't remember exact wording). Have also tried loading the new DVD and leaving navigation alone for 30 mins with both the car running and ignition off.

Been through all of the previous posts to see if there's something I've missed, but can't find anything.

Any help greatly appreciated

Try changing media (also try DVD-R)

What program are you using to burn, if nero, try using DVD decryptor, or vicaversa.

What you need to do is unrar the rapidshare files, which should give you a single ISO file.

Then burn with DVD decrypter using the steps listed here (from 15 onward):

http://www.bmwnavaddpoi.co.uk/imageway.htm

DVD decrypter is available here:

http://www.dvddecrypter.org.uk/

To burn the ISO you need to use select 'mode - ISO - write' in the drop down menu.

I also recommend DVD + RW.

I think you MAY have been dropping the ISO onto the disc, rather than burning a copy from the ISO (disc image).

You should use DVD+R media to burn the disc image, Ed- Sony,TDK & Verbatim DVD+R media all works fine at x4 or below.

If you use other media formats, the ability to use voice entry of destinations is lost, for some strange reason.

You could just wait a short time & try the 2008-2 'Special Edition' disc, instead.

All the best.

Cheers for the info, but coodem has sorted me out!

I'll keep an eye on the 2008-2 news

Keep up the good work

The burner you use seems to matter too

I found the DVD burner you are using also made a difference. I originally tried to make a copy of my Nav DVD using a cheap no brand USB DVD RW bought off e bay and no media worked properly in the BMW nav.

I then bought an LG DVD RW for my desktop and now all the media that didn't work will now work in the nav unit when it's burnt using the LG drive. Verbatim, Maxell and Philips +R all work. Have also been able to burn a Maxell -R.

Hope that helps
