I'll confess I haven't looked, read the manual or searched - but something tells me it's a dealer job?

Nope, it's a 5 minute job. Handbook describes best.

side lights are easy to change on the E92 but NOT on E90/E91

Ah, I may have jumped the gun then. As you say, easy on the e92 and since the e90/91 have conventional rather than corona rings I thought they would be at least as easy. I'll keep schtum.

(still, surely not a dealer-only job??)

I had xenons with corona rings on my E90 and you can only access through the wheel arch so the wheels and wheel arch trim had to come off - if you don't have confidence doing it yourself go to the dealer

I was assuming conventional halogen lights as xenons are an option on the e90.

Sidelights not too bad to change on the E90, so long as you dont have sausage fingers.

Ensure that the bulb is securely held in the holder though - I didnt and the bulb fell into the headlight.................and the bumper has to come off to take the headlight out!

We were talking about this at Brooklands, from what I can tell it's still a DIY job but if you know someone with an equipped bay and they don't mind you arranging a time to use it, I would just makes the job a whole lot easier

Yes halogens might be easier to change but I don't know on the E91

Well, it took me ten minutes in the end, and eight were spent looking for my spare bulbs.

All accesible in the usual way from the engine bay. Sidelight holder was loose though...
