325d M Sport Touring Deals?
Hi guys,
I am looking to sell both my cars (Supercharged Z4 and M3 Evo) to buy one "sensible" car. I test drove a 325d a few months back and I was very impressed. The problem is I can never find a used manual 325d or 330d with the right spec, very important to me. So getting a new one may be an option. I have a few questions. 1) Will BMW be offering big discounts before the release of the facelift model to get rid of stock, or will they just end up pre registering them? I spec'd the car at £36.5K without Nav.... Would £32K be likely? 2) Can a current 2008 engine still be remapped or are they even encrypted now? 3) What's the difference between Business and Pro Nav? 4) Any word of them extending the current 4 cylinder "Edition offer" to the 6 cylinder range? If I knew that DMS etc would be able to remap the 320d in the future, I'd be happy with one of those to be honest. Not interested in a tuning box. 5) I can't see anything, but does the 330d come with anything as standard that is only an option on the 325d? Think I'll save the money and get a remap ![]() Think that's it for now G |

Business Nav doesn't give you a large map. You just get symbols that illustrate the next turning/roundabout, etc, so the voice comes in more useful. I've got the Pro version and never use the voice - perfect!!!
My 330d (06 plate) hasn't got electric memory seats so that's an option unless times have changed. Mine is also a manual. I share your passion of a manual box however sometimes feel the 330d is mated better with an auto - sometimes feels a little cumbersome & heavy with a manual however it is a 'sweet-as-a-nut' manual box. Depends on your sytle of driving and where you dirve really. Would I choose a manual again over an auto... ...yes.

There will be deals to be had due to depressed car market.
Don't know the details but BMW will be introducing a price increase for cars delivered to dealer after 1st August. BMW closes the factory for Summer holidays during August. New production of Saloons as of September with October delivery will be the facelift model with no 'Editions' offers. Not sure when Touring changes to the facelift as I have heard October from some dealers, later in the year from others. If dealers are trying to sell you a car for immediate delivery they don't like giving too much info on the facelift as this puts them on the back foot regarding negotiation of discounts. If you don't mind the facelift issue then you may get a very good deal on a stock car in July. Although there are not many 325d's around. Plenty of 320 and 330d's though. |

The first thing to do is drive an auto - I have one and would'nt have dreamt of owning an auto before i actually drove the car. The shifts are seamless and the box knows you want to rev the engine, so none of these early change ups like you get with other german rivals. If you still don't like it save yourself 2-3k and buy a six cylinder petrol - whichever one you fancy. Then get an LPG conversion for £1500. Then pay 62p a litre at the pumps.
You now have a petrol engined car that's cheaper to run than a diesel and that cost less including the conversion I would have gone down this route but the 335d is a stonking motor and i prefer the silly amounts of torque i get from the engine |

I just got a 57 plate 325d MSport tourer ex BMW staffer in perfect condition for £23,500 with bluetooth and leather and with the GFV I've got its a bargain! I did have to walk away twice to get it for that price and I wasn't too fussy about spec [just Bluetooth - the leather was a bonus].
I really want to like auto boxes but every time I drive one I hate it! I was very close to getting a Toureg or an E91 until I drove both in auto...I guess I like being in control of the car and not the other way round! I would post a piccie but I can't re-size the photos to a sensible size yet... ![]() |
