Question CAN SOMEONE CONFIRM THIS FOR ME! Plz. :D

I have an E90 335xi.
....
i'm looking at these wheels but i'm a lil' scared...
BBS LM Reps...
19x8.5 ET 35 fronts 2in. lip/ 19x10.5 ET 40 Rears 3in. lip.

..

If i get these wheels, will i get any Rubbing, Mishandling/Understeer or whatever else that's bad for the car. lol

..

I need confirmation asap.

As long as you end up with the same (or as close as possible) rolling diameter on the tires, you should be good to go as far as I know. This is assuming you are not dropped and are using the stock xi suspension. If you are lowered you may need some fender rolling.

Why do you want to go so staggered with AWD just outta curiousity - help out with the understeer problem?

And becareful on those streets in NYC with 19" reps if ya do decide to get em!

Staggered w/ awd is not out of the ordinary. If you look at the AWD P-cars they all run staggered setups with wide ass rears. Just watch out for tramlining w/ wider tires, esp in NYC.

hey guys...just a heads up about 19s on XI
if something every go wrong with your car while using 19s...make sure you put your oem wheels back on before heading to service...I been told that some dealers will void warranty if 19s were use on the XIs.

of course its prbly BS, but just be caution

Nah, I would kinda guess that would be right, I mean especially if you have that extended warranty like I have, why would they want to fix something for free that wouldn't of happened if you didn't put it on the car.







Doesn't stop me though from doing it!

not sure if there any xi only wheels, but over all CSL or CSL reps (velocity motoring) are pretty popular, M5 or M6 reps (miro) are also rather common.

Correct. Typically AWD vehicles have staggered wheels to compensate for the understeer characteristics that are assoicated with them. Yet, the OP isnt just changing wheel width, but radius size as well (19"), which will greatly affect the handling characteristics of the vehicle unless he reverts back to the original rolling diameter of the stock setup which is impossible with a 19" staggered setup. And a 2" different front-to-rear width is huge!

If the OP is merely looking for an aesethetic improvement, go for it. Be weary that your vehicle will handle differently and you will feel more vibration in the cabin/steering wheel. Otherwise go 19" but same width all around -- that is your safe bet.

And PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE buy good tires. It's more important that you have good solid tires than expensive rims IMO!!!

Why the same width all around? How differently will it handle then stock with the same width all around. I'm just curious as my stock wheels are staggered too.

What's the size of the rear tire you're going to use? 10.5 inches is wider than normal, which is 9.5 with 265 tire width. Maybe someone else can confirm?

What do you me by bad gas milage. I have 19" stagger and I get about 22 mph on city driving and 26-28 on highway drive. Yes, the 19's look sweeet.

What the hell are you guys talking about re: understeer and staggered setups?!

Staggered setups with wider tires in the rear are going to increase understeer since the tires in the back will have more traction than the fronts. In a turn, the fronts will thus lose traction first and will cause the front to push.

I'm by no means a tire expert, but my educated guess would be more contact patch to the rear lets the computer send more power to the wheels decreasing understeer? Of course I'm just guessing.

But in any case wheel wise, I was about to pull the trigger on some CSL reps, but I kind of want a lip now that I'm going for a staggered setup. I may end up getting those Linea Corse Z2S or w/e they're called. CSL look but with a lip = hot.

dont get me wrong its gonna look sick but my cousin also got some of these for his e90 and any unleveled road or train tracks or anything in the road that would make your suspension do work makes his tires scrape against the tire housing which is a very unattractive sound. And his are only 18's. the BMW dealership said there'd be no problem but little did they know

You are correct but what it will allow for is less effort required by the driver to turn the wheel, since there is less surface area/traction up front, which may be enough to compensate for the understeer characterisitcs.

I wouldnt run staggered though, at least not 2" different staggered, unless I had a viper or vette or never planned on turning.
