Each town has a rate, for example mine is 2.24.

I don't own, but I agree..after a yr in northern NJ, I want to go back to PA or further south. Paying $1350 on a 850sq ft. 1 br. apt. which is clean and in a good town, but I could get a 2br. luxury apt. in a nice community in PA for $900/mth. and salaries aren't that much diff. down there. Unfortunately, once you're up here it's hard to break into jobs in the south bc salaries are generally higher and, shit like car pmts, student loan pmts etc don't lessen just bc you move. Basically only save on rent

My buddy who moved into the same time a year after me was paying $8100, now it's $9800. Utterly ridiculous. Nutley isn't Short Hills, Franklin Lakes, or any other ritzy town. Whoever made this decision is a jackass and I'll let them know about it.

Stupid Cliffside Park just axed like 6 spots right out front of the place.

Already checked....spots 1 and 6 are available..but the pidgeon shit from the rafters comes down in the middle of those two spots.

Definetly NOT parking the BMW...either one for that matter...in that spot..unless I build a tent or something lol.

yea my parents had to sell our house b/c the damn taxes were soo damnn high!!! And the only place you wont pay high taxes are in Mirtle Beach.. lol

I'm in the same boat as you. My property taxes just went up + $4,000 for this coming year alone. If your town reassessed in the last year or so then you got the shaft much like I did. Freaking ridiculous.

My taxes in Lodi were 12.4 before I bought the property. Previous owner got re-assessed and dropped it to 9350...
we'll see what the new upcoming year brings me w/ taxes and a new mortgage increase

The cost of living in a town with good school districts, although it's still nowhere as bad as what you pay in Westchester. I'm looking at homes these days and it's a tough choice, move into a good school district now (anticipating the need for it) or go somewhere with lower taxes now and move later (but get hit with higher borrowing cost & home prices).
