Rear rotors are a different part #. Otherwise they look about the same for coupes produced after 09/2007.

As for compatibility, we can only go by what BMW lists for these vehicles. Once some customers try to retrofit and report back, we can go from there.

Not yet unfortunately.

Check the original post for compatibility.

Probably not, because the calipers in the kit are different part numbers from the individual replacements. You can always go w/ the complete kit though

Guys - this is a SMALL Brake Kit.

It's the same brakes that come with the 135i, which are smaller than the 335i stock brakes.

The stock 335i brakes are 348mm, this "upgrade" is 338mm.

Totally incorrect -

A. These are not 335i performance brake kits, so why compare the components to 335i brake parts? E90 330i front rotors are 330mm. So, 330mm to 338mm is a considerable "upgrade".

B. These are not the same calipers that are standard on the 135i, either. These are the BMW Performance yellow 6-piston calipers, which are significantly larger than the stock 135i calipers. Totally different part number, appearance, and size as well.

Why, because people here are obviously trying to decide whether there 335i would be better off with this performance brake kit (which isn't intended for their model per BMW). It is definitely valid to compare the 335i stock rotor which is 348mm x 30mm to the 330i performance rotor which is 338mm x 26mm. But, there are other differences too obviously including the calipers (6 piston fixed versus single piston floating), pads, rotor style, etc.

Totally incorrect.

Better check your facts Jason, take a 135i stock front caliper and hold it beside the performance caliper, take a picture of it, post it to this list then tell me what you said above. Size and general appearance is identical, the only difference is the color (and therefore the part number) and the lettering. The brake pads themselves are the identical part between the stock 135i and the performance package.

Rich

Just trying to help out and state the facts to the best of my knowledge. I don't have the two calipers here to compare side by side. You can't always judge a book by its cover, nor can you assume two calipers are alike because they utilize the same brake pads. For example, E46 M3 ZCP Competition package cars share the same rear pad, 34216761248, with the E53 X5, E39 M5, and Z8 Roadster - all of which use different part numbers for rear calipers. Are the two calipers the same? Maybe. But they have different part numbers - that's all I can tell you from my professional position.

As an OEM supplier, all we can do is our best to advise the community on the best choices for upgrading their cars using the information given to us directly by BMW. We don't manufacture or install these parts, nor are we going to be able to tell you if a kit that's not intended for your vehicle will indeed provide an adequate improvement over stock.

That said, the E90 Performance Brake kit should be considered as an upgrade on a 330i - as it's intended for, and not for 335i. Our advice, if you don't have a 335i - don't install this kit, wait for the 335i kit.

Peace, I'm out -

I am not assuming anything, I have compared them, and I believe the calipers are functionally identical and the only difference is cosmetic (grey versus yellow and the lettering). Matter of fact, I have portions of the 135i stock brakes and portions of the performance system on my personal E90 330i so I have some direct experience as well. You made a statement about the two calipers not being anything alike, it is incorrect and you did it in a fashion that made you definitely sound like the expert and seeing as to where you work, people would probably assume you know what you are talking about.

I am sure everyone appreciates that and your presence on this board (particularly as getting information and pictures from BMW can be challenging), but as an BMW Original Equipment parts supplier, you are also expected to know what you are talking about when you make a definitive statement about calipers.

I agree for the most part although I might argue that the E90 Performance Brake kit rear set-up is not necessarily an upgrade from a rotor perspective, but it is from a caliper perspective.

Take care.

Maybe I am wrong, but as I said - I can only go by what BMW says. The part numbers are different, and that's all I know. Trust me, it's difficult to get any information out of BMW about the BMW Performance line.

Well, thank you - and for the most part(I think), I do know what I'm talking about. This item, along with the rest of the Performance line, is still fairly new. I haven't even had the opportunity to see one of these kits installed on a vehicle yet. The fact is, I'm sure there are a lot of E90 owners that probably know a lot more in detail about what works/doesn't work on an E90 than I do.

I'm sure there will be, but I don't have an ETA for you at this time. I'm certain that it'll be pricier than the above-listed kits, a la the SSK's.

pricier but can't be as much as Big Red's(Brembo). Factory Brembos work for me
