Squeaks and Rattles warranty?
Does BMW have a squeaks and rattles warranty that is less than the 4yr/48k?
On my VW, the warranty was 4/50k but there was a squeaks and rattles warranty that was only 1yr/12k. Which aggrivated the hell out of me! My 2006 e90 has 13.5k miles and the seat squeaks like a mouse when i lean forward or accelerate or brake. If I take it in to my BMW center, will it be covered?

I was told that it's only covered for 1 year, which totally disgusts me. I told a friend of mine who works at Benz and he was horrified to hear that.
BUT, I was also told by the shop foreman who I deal with at BMW that as long as the dealer can attribute it to something else thats within reason, they'll still fix it afterward that period. For example, a rattling rear shelf is obviously either defective design or construction so it's covered. Squeaks in the trim would be more difficult to convince them to find, turns out the dealer doesn't get reimbursed under warranty for the time spent looking, only for the job as a whole provided it's isolated and fixed. Is your seat problem a squeak of creak? I had the latter and it was "fixed" by raising the rear an inch from the lowest setting which I had it at.

It is kind of hard to describe the sound, I think I could attribute it to the seat frame defect. I guess it might be closer to a creak if anything, because its kind of a long sound.
That is disheartening if they only cover it for a year for squeaks, if Benz doesn't do the that. And I had a Cadillac Escalade and the dealer fixed squeaks and rattles my entire ownership (didn't have that many) (3yr/36k).

4 yr 50k miles (USA)
as long as its not attributed to anything other than normal wear/tear (broken suspension component caused by the crater you just drove through) but a seat noise will def be covered

Oh it will be covered? Well then that's a relief. I also noticed that in the rear, it sound like the right door or something is making noise and I know that should be covered under warranty, but I will definately have the seat looked at cause that is driving me batty.
Are BMW's proned to squeaks and rattles or is my car just a basketcase?
