NEW OEM Style Boost Gauge - info with **PICS**
Some of you already saw this at the NJ MOM meet this past Saturday on my car, others obviously didn't.
I always wanted an OEM looking digital Boost Gauge. Everyone knows that a boost gauge is a necessity in any turbo car, let alone a tuned/chipped car. I tried sticking it up in the corner by the pillar and windshield, looked to cluttered. Considered Rixster's pod, again too cluttered and i didn't think it flowed well with the 335 dash. Then i tried sticking it in the driver side vent, but my lack of knowing how to make it look right, left me with a gauge in a vent with empty gaps and hot glue all over the place. I had the vision of what i wanted it to look like, but just couldn't do it myself. I got in contact with a very reputable New Jersey custom car audio/video shop that Craig@SupremePower works very closely with. I told them what i was trying to accomplish and man did they come through!!! They took my vision, and made it 100x better than i could have imagined. The Boost Gauge looks like it came stock from the factory installed. The vent is still functional, hot & cold air still come out of it, and the knob still closes and opens the vent. The billet on the gauge itself flows perfectly with the BMW trim and matches the start/stop button to the T. The gauge is even angled perfectly towards the driver so your eye's never have to leave the road! Another plus is if you want to go back to stock, it takes 2 mins to just pop off the trim piece and replace the custom vent pod with a spare OEM vent. Well enough of my raving about this... i'm just so happy to finally have exactly what i've been trying to accomplish. If anyone is interested, you can contact Craig@SupremePower via PM or shoot him an email at Craig@SupremePower.com He can get you all the info you need on this. Thanks again Craig, Ron & Dave. That looks good -- I have Rixster's pod and the VEI gauge. I love the gauge, but the pod is def not up to par, fitment and finish wise.
Just curious, what size is that gauge?

I debated on that Rixster pod for a while, then ultimately decided against it. |

I've seen the gauge in person and it definitely flows very nicely keeping the OEM look and the vent functionality... I have the rixster which I will be trying to off load soon to get something custom done by Craig@supremepower's group.
Alex thanks for introducing me to Ron and Dave, they threw some ideas for my gauge placement. I might try to place it on the center dash replacing the left vent something like the porsche 911 turbo. Anyone interested in the rixster gauge it's for sale... |
