335i/135i/535i turbo lag in DC area?

Does anyone in the DC area (or within reasonable driving distance) have the 29.2 progman and its additional turbo lag?

Does anyone have 29.2 and NO turbo lag?

You probably have 29.2 if you received your car after March '08 or you took it in for 15k service after March.

I'm interested in meeting up and comparing notes in either case.

When did you take delivery of your car, and is it a 6MT?

These inline 6s with tiny snails really don't have any turbo lag at all for me I took delivery just a week ago. Of course I'm coming from an Evo with a 35r and fully built 2.0 with full spool at 4800rpm

I just got my 335i about 2-3 weeks ago, build date 6/08.

So does this mean I have 29.2? I'm so used to having turbo lag, I didn't realize it used to not have turbo lag.... LOL

yup.. a former Sti and a WRX owner.. HAHA..

The cars i run through, it's amazing how I run into all sorts of random old forum members from other cars...

I'm trying the luxury speed thing, but I don't tend to mod this too much... I have my Hayabusa if I want speed

hey-

from what i'm reading.. a V81 car with 29.2 software acts just like a pre 29.2 car.

It seems the pre V81 car's with the new 29.2 software have the real issues..

This whole thing had my head turning, but I think I figured it out

Please do tell me more. Are you sure it isn't just that v81 owners never got to know what a pre-29.2 car drives like?

do you have a 6MT or an AT?

I'll let you drive my car and decide for yourself whether you want the "upgrade."

are you supposed to get the software update? if so, you better ask what version. I had mine updated a few weeks ago but they didnt use 29.2 (it was an earlier version).

are you still on your original fuel pump? if so, you may want to have them change it.

How do you know you have an earlier version? Also, if you know the version number on the file, then can you post it? The number in the SA records that indicates 29.2 ends in something like 0803-530.

i've been doing a lot of research about this whole thing.

It almost seems like the v81 was the fix to the 29.2...I'm not really sure.. it's quite intresting..

I am continously reading, trying to get an idea what is going on with this.

But so far my final understanding is..

Pre 3/08 car- upgrade to 29.2 - lag
3/08 car and newer with 29.2- doesn't have the lag problem....

I've been messing with my car over and over to find this lag, because i read these threads..
