SPP Group Buy pre-order: NEW RPI 335i bolt-on FMIC 26WHP gain!

Hello guys & gals - first I would like to introduce myself. My name is Chris and I am now working for Supreme Power. We have just launched this new intercooler that we tested on our E92 335i. The unit is a work of art, beautiful welds and inlets, designed to maximize cooling efficiency and minimize pressure drop. This is a bolt on kit - utilizing the stock hoses and hardware. NO cutting or modding is necessary.

Retail price is $1499, but we are doing a pre-sale special as production will begin in the next few weeks. Deliver expected in 4-5 weeks.

For our dyno run, we used a Dyno Dynamics dyno which gives us very conservative numbers. Regardless, a 26whp gain is all we need to say. Test was done same day, we did 3 pulls on the stock IC which had slight drop in HP each pull. When we did the RPI IC, we noticed HP GAINS each back to back pull (4 total), most likely due to the ECU adapting to the lower temps. This was done with a very large fan with the hood closed.

This is a great product, and the has been getting faster as we keep driving. There is a noticeable gain in top end. The test car had AA software and Britalman catback.

pics:

Special pre-sale price is $1350. We are looking to get 15 orders. Local customers are welcome to special before/after dyno and install pricing with purchase, please contact me for details. This is a good $/hp value.

I don't know where to start ... first, most are getting in the 270whp range from a stock 335i. Second, you had aftermarket software, and exhaust, so your stock numbers should be much higher.

This much is true. As I explained - we used a Dyno Dynamics dyno which is notoriously over conservative. If you want me to post a DynoJet graph, I can and it will read higher numbers. But at the end of the day, the gain will be the same and that was the point we were trying to make with the IC. Also, it was a hot day in the upper 90s on the day of testing. We will be running again on a Mustang dyno hopefully sometime this week.

We dynod a stock 335i on this dyno and it was showing 220WHP for reference.. so there is a large increase.

This is just like the IC from Turbonetics. Here is a thread about the test with that IC.

Test Thread

The only way you are getting 26whp out of a IC change is by increasing the boost.

Well, we didnt make the dyno chart with crayons It was the same car same everything same day just swapping the IC. I realize the number seems high and its just one snapshot of info on a given day (like any other dyno run) but at least we are posting the dyno results Many other mfgs dance around that subject. Its not so much that we are gaining power, we are recovering lost power. BMWs tend to pull timing big time in less than ideal conditions, M5/6 and 335 alike. IAT is likely the reason. I think you are right that colder air alone wouldnt make that HP gain, but its probably also due to the fact that the ECU isnt pulling timing. Those two inputs combined is what is providing the gain.

If anyone wants to come for a test drive, let me know!!

I do like the IC from RPi better then the Turbonetics. I like how the pipes are angled just like the stock ones. Now if the price gets down to about $1,100, then I may buy one!

Just a couple of questions ... who makes the core? Has there been a preasure test done compared to stock (psi test amount and preasure loss)? What is the heat amount diffrence in degrees, before and after core (compared to stock)? Also, where is install done, your shop or RPi, and how long does it take? In addition, what kind of warranty?

Bell makes the core in conjunction with RPI . System has 1psi or less of pressure drop. 84% thermal efficienty. LIFETIME warranty on the core and welds! Install requires removal of front bumper, R&R IC, replace bumper. No cutting or swapping pipes. It would be a matter of your experience with that. 1.5 hours or so for professional, 3-4 for unskilled.

Do you know the volume of the new core compared to stock? Anyone do thermal efficiency on the stock core? How about air flow (cfm)

No data on stock IC. Volume is nearly double. Airflow relative to what pressure?

Here is the latest dyno for you DynoJet fans.. 320rwhp, 347rwtq, 98% of which is at 2400. This was done at Eurosport, and they claim that the dyno is pretty accurate, as they dyno 100s of bone stock cars and they are spot on to MFG claims.. take that with a grain of salt.

Both dyno graphs on the Dyno Dynamics and the Dynojet were the same car with Xede. The car was recently sold to a customer, maybe he can chime in!

Doesn't the Xede on a stock car produce more whp than that?

All depends on Dyno, conditions, which gear was used, and calibration. There are so many variables. but as mentioned, the GAIN is there from baseline with identical conditions, same day.

Here is a link to a ton of info on Dynos..
